Guest Patrokles
I posted a little while ago how everything seemed to be going wrong for everyone I knew this year, and last week everything seemed to be getting back to okay again, but this week has just been another one full of nonsense. The girl I'm long-distance with has no internet connection and no land-line, so I haven't been able to be in touch with her all week when it's really important to do so to arrange my trip over in january (just when it seemed like she'd finally sorted herself out in terms of some complex shit), and then I've just been generally miserable this week, AND just now I found out that my (relatively young) aunt has breast cancer. & it's pretty soon before Xmas and they have a little 2 year old boy. Pisses me off, to be honest. I mean, we're nearby so can help with Will and everything, but it's still frustrating and upsetting that everything is still going wrong. Shit usually works out, that's proven itself to be true. But, still. I'd rather it didn't happen in the first place. Oh well.
Guest Patrokles
And it frustrates me because none of this shit that's been going down is in ANYONE's hands. There's nothing you can do. In the past when bad stuff has happened, it's been shit I can deal with, and I have dealt with, and I've never let things get on top of me (and I still won't), but everything happening right now is stuff that is entirely in the hands of other people. I haven't mentioned anything before either, but the reason I've been on here so much is an illness of my own, and I have a hospital appointment November 22nd which is basically going to tell me whether anything can be done or not. So, again, it's something else that has basically ruined my life for a good year or so now, and nothing that I can do to solve anything. I'm not miserable, I'm just so fucking frustrated. Well, I'm in touch with her still, just not very regularly. it's just annoying because things were starting to get good again and I was regaining faith that things might actually work out. But I'd just been a bit grumpy/lonely this week which made it all worse. I'm sure that situation will work out.
manc-mag 1
Aye all the best to your aunt! When I was 17 it was a very good year. It was a very good year for small town girls and soft summer nights tbh.

I know how you feel about it, I'm in one myself. But I'm all set to fly out to Germany for xmas, and she's coming over here for a Bowling For Soup gig in feb. As for the cancer, that's just rough. Have they caught it early though? If so there's every chance she'll pull through it. Personally I'm of the opinion right now that no matter how shite life may seem, it's nothing I can't handle. Which is true, it helps me concentrate on the positive aspects instead of getting worked up over things that are out of my control. That and I have some great friends who can put up with me going off on one on occasion.
Tom 14011
I kind of gave up about two years ago and conceded that life s completely total and utter shit apart a few days a year...and playing guitar and watching football (when its actually good) So to be honest anything thats not complete shit seems like paradise to me... Gemmill 44112
You're at university tbh. If you think life's shit now, you've got a monumental kick in the bollocks on the way when you start working.

Guest Patrokles
Sorry about that guys, I've just needed to let off a bit of steam. Thanks for the kind comments. I had a mini-breakdown in the cereal aisle of sainsbury's and now things are much better. It really was very mini. I stood there and couldn't decide what cereal I wanted so I glared at an old lady and left with no cereal. Then Lauren texted me from AMERICA. So shit's good.
