luckyluke 2
This match has set the tone for the series, unfortunately. I was looking foward to a tight tussle. People said that after the first test in 2005. Mind you, we didn't look quite so useless then.

Ted Maul 0
England's bowling attack simply woeful. Whenever Australia have batted in this match it's looked like a slab. In England's first innings it looked like a minefield. Which begs the question why the fuck wasn't Panesar chosen. We're relying far too much on our tail end being good with the bat. KP and Freddie are meant to be two of the best batsman in the world but Fletcher isn't confident enough in them to put a specialist bowler like Panesar in for fear of losing 10-20 runs. I personally reckon if we had Monty in we'd only have been aiming for a score in the mid to high 400s rather than 600+.

I think it's difficult to know how Monty would have performed in his first Ashes test. Plus it was our pace attack that won us the last Ashes, not the spinners. They've failed to perform and look at the result.
Gemmill 46752
I know very little about cricket, but Steve Harmison's body language is on a par with Luque's at the minute. Looks like he'd rather be anywhere but in Australia.

I agree it's difficult to know how he'd perform but he's arguably our best bowler but because he's not capable with bat and in the field he's been overlooked, that's what annoys me. Still living off the back of his performance against the Windies in two years ago. He was inconsistent before then and has been inconsistent since. Yet he's constantly painted as England's great hope for some inexplicable reason. Remember when he was compared to Glenn McGrath, a bowler famed for relentless accuracy? If such a comparison wasn't so embarrasingly ridiculous I'd piss myself laughing. Quite frankly I wish he was anywhere but Australia. wellsy 0
Hmm bat for one more session then just bowl you out tomorrow sometime i guess. Funny how we have passed your first innings total of 157 in 20 overs less then you. We like to score runs quickly thats for sure! Ponting = Best batsman and possibly the best batsman of the modern era McGrath = Best bowler and the best fast bowler of his time, fantastic. Like a fine wine. Sima 0
Despite him having a better average than all 3? Ponting will have scored more hundreds than 35 by the time he plays 132 tests as well. Edited November 25, 2006 by Sima

I think ive posted this before, but on his very first test for england he got flown home to hospital with a injury. He told the doc looking after him though that he had faked the injury cos he was so homesick. Hes a grown man for fucks sake! Hes only been out of the counry a week! needs to grow some balls tbh! Put Ponting into the shite Lara has had to put up with during his career and I bet his average would be nowhere near as high.
