PUB GRUB

Inspired by Snakeys tearful contribution to the "how was your day" thread I thought I'd give this thing another go, as I'm pretty sure Pud started one ages ago. Lets not confine it to pubs in Newcastle though.

I'd suggest the Courtyard in Leeds, great burgers, never particularly busy at lunchtime and good selection of lagers etc. Not so good for Real Ale, but the Food is always fresh and tastey.

Also the Terrace opposite Babycream, beside the gallery. Fantastic food, and a more "elite" selection of lagers, but mucho more pricey!

In Newcastle I really enjoy the food at Destination

Nandos in the gate and my mother reckons the Queens Head down cullercoats does a cracking sunday lunch.

Fuck me gently! You class Nandos as a pub?

Didn't read the thread title properly, sorry you pedantic twat!

I bet you make your lass shout "I'm arriving, I'm arriving" when by some major miracle you actually make her come every now and again

For a cheap n cheerful tea, Lloyds bar down the quayside do a cracking burger and beer for under £4.

Sunday Lunch - Im yet to find a better one than the Lion and Lamb in Horsley.

I used to like the White Swan in Dinnington but its gone downhill a fair bit over the last year or so.

Down Boro way theres a fantastic country pub (I think its called the Ship) about half a mile up the road from Tall Trees which does the most amazing fish and chips.

And if we werent confining it to pubs then I would say Stanley Casino does a great 3 course meal for £11 however obviously like the thread title clearly stated PUB GRUB.

Like the Lion and Lamb but I'm not a fan of microwave food from the likes of LLoyds.

Copperfields in Tynemouth did superb home made burgers but I haven't been for a bit.

The Magnesia Bank in Shields has a great restaurant or alternatively cheap bar food.

The Shiremoor farm near New York is good but always busy.

Btw, can I just point out that in general pub food in the North East is SHIT. I was looking at a Michelin's guide to pub food the other day and there was virtually no entry in Tyne and Wear. I'm seriously thinking about opening a gastropub somewhere.
