Scottish Mag 3
ARSENAL are ready to swoop for Newcastle's French winger Charles N'Zogbia in the January transfer window. The £5million-rated left winger, 20, has had his first-team chances held back by Damien Duff's arrival at St James' Park. N'Zogbia has made 54 starts for the Geordies, who need to raise cash and lower the wage bill before buying a striker in the new year.
Scottish Mag 3
NEWCASTLE are desperate to resist any bid by Bayern Munich to prise Turkish midfielder Emre away from St James’ Park. SunSport revealed the Bundesliga giants have earmarked the Toon ace as a potential replacement for Manchester United target Owen Hargreaves. But boss Glenn Roeder has a small squad at his disposal and is not willing to weaken it any further. Although midfield is the area his squad is strongest, he is a big fan of the 26-year-old former Inter Milan ace. And he will be looking to add new players to his ranks during the January transfer window. Roeder will also keep hold of Nicky Butt, who has been watched by his former Manchester United team-mate Roy Keane, now Sunderland boss, in recent weeks. Roeder is set to take a chance on winger Kieron Dyer for the basement battle with Sheffield United tomorrow — after he made good recovery from an eye injury. JawD 99
No way should we be letting Zog go. He's still young and while yes he has been limited a little with the arrival of Duff, he has a huge future and we should make sure its with us. IF he was let go, £5M is also way too low. Gemmill 44242
Now that he's signed his contract, if we're gonna sell him we should be taking the piss with any transfer fee. Double £5m for starters.

snakehips 0
I would think that it is certain that players will be leaving in January to fund in-coming transfers. Soooo, we have: Milner; Emre; Zog who are worth a few quid (£17m). I would probably sell Milner and Emre tbh, but only if the replacements were of equal standing i.e. a quality striker and C.B. Then we need to be buying a decent LB as well.
MrBass 2640
Don't think we should be selling Milner either tbh. Always puts in 100% and, when he plays, he's usually one of the best players on the pitch. Him and Zoggy are both ones for the future.
Isegrim 9707
The Emre story looks fabricated to me. I don't think (and that's also what they said so far= Bayern will be in for a midfielder even if they sell Hargreaves.
adios 717
Leaving for less than Jenas? Bidding starts at £15m tbh.
sweetleftpeg 0
He won't go for £5m in Jnauary, there would be fucking hell on and not even Fat Fred would be stupid enough to do it. Would he? Sell Emre btw.
Tom 14011
Nah if he goes theres gonna be bother like id take £17m, Arsenal are fucking loaded man, they never spend a penny, He would be more restricted there anyway
Bombadil 0
If we need cash in January (which I presume we do), I'd sell Emre. We'll get a fair bit of money for him if a Continental club comes in for him. Having said that, our squad is so ridiculously small, it will be madness to sell anyone unless we really need the money. Gemmill 44242
Re Arsenal btw. I've been listening to the radio this week with all the Arsenal fans ringing in and whining about how the extra 20-odd thousand fans that are now attending post-Highbury are basically all shit, leave early, and the Highbury atmosphere has disappeared. The journos are all agreeing with them an'all. But the thing is......wasn't Highbury meant to have pretty much no atmosphere anyway? It does sound like a nightmare coming out of the new ground and trying to get on the tube with 60 odd thousand people mind. It was bad enough at Spurs trying to do that. sweetleftpeg 0
Arsenal fans were ringing Radio 5 earlier in the week claiming the club were broadcasting cheering over the tannoys to make the atmosphere sound better. Arsenal then denied this and claimed it was from the big screen.
Gemmill 44242
Maybe we could get aimaad to go on their board and give them some pointers.

Arsenal then denied this and claimed it was from the big screen. This was actually done at Eastlands, home of the bestest football supporters in the world. Ever. Fact. Now that's unbelievable. Something that was admitted by the Citeh chairman and should never, NEVER, be forgotten.
Guest Patrokles
The N'Zogbia thing is a non-story, if you look at the actual piece. It's just ludicrously tentative and baseless.
TheInspiration 1
Can't believe people think Emre should be sold. It's not his fault he's played out of position normally. Considering he was coming back fro injury yesterday, he had a good game playing as an attacking midfielder. Corners still awful though.

I can't see how selling N'Zogbia would cut the wage bill that much, I bet he's on less than half of what Luque and Butt are on.
Footsoldier 0
N'Zogbia is a good prospect at this time but thats about all he is. Until he learns to deliver a final ball consistently he will never be the player people on here like to think he is. Also, if N'Zogbia has signed a new contract then nothing has been said in the press which is surprising if he is rated as such a star. Unless I mssed it. Being awarded a new contract is not necessarily the same as signing a new contract so I'm not convinced that he can't walk next summer in which case we might have to take 5 mill in January. Based on his current form, I wouldn't pay 5mill for him because he's done next to nothing this season so far.
