I'd take Shearer at this point. It's a big risk, but I think that's where we're at at this point. Could he have been the difference between last season and this season? That may mean that we have to wait until near the end of the season so we can get round his not having the qualifications. The fat man has been critised too many times from within football for being too hasty in sacking managers so he will want to wait as long as possible so he doesn't look bad again. And we have fuck all chance of anyone else who would apease anywhere near enough fans coming in because no one with half a name would touch us with a barge poll. I just sincerely don't feel able to predict our results between now and Xmas, then things will hopefully change for the better if we get some decent players in- though that's not guaranteed- so, I just don't know! She doesn't like football either. She spent Saturday complaining that the ashtrays in the pub weren't being emptied enough. I got the other (my best friend) into it, though, and Newcastle specifically, so we're trying to get up for a game.
