pertoon 0
As some rightly say we are not going to get a top class player from the likes of Manure or Chelski come here when they could be in the Championship next season. The best we can currently get from them is a reject on his last legs. Likewise we dont want any foriegn players who may or may not be a miracle worker Martins came with so much promise yet we are still waiting he has had long enough to settle in now so if he is as good as they said he was he should now be performing. Where we should be looking is up and coming players from the Championship or even lower leauges who want to progress. Then how about the academy perhaps a Shearer does only come along once in a generation but with all the ammateur clubs in the area surely theres got to be 1 or 2 local lads whos lifetimes ambition is to come out of the tunnel at St James`s Park. We need 100% commitment from our players not a mixed group who are only interested in the size of the pay cheque. To be fair to Roeder he took over a team ripped apart by Shiteness just look at how some of the players he sold are performing at other clubs and of course we lost Shearer and Michael Owen (somehow i doubt we will ever see him in a Newcastle shirt again} and as for Dire we he ever be fit? Whichever way you look at it it aint easy to come up with a solution but there no doubting we need one FAST. At least the performance against Charlton was an improvement its still early days so try not to dispair too much yet.
Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
Nugent, Earnshaw, Healy (even though he's been shit for Leeds), Chopra( ), Davies, Upson and maybe someone from Hearts is about the best we can hope for. sammynb 3581
We'd be better off buying a couple of dozen copies of this for Roeder and the other clueless idiots we already have at the club.
Noelie 103
Then how about the academy perhaps a Shearer does only come along once in a generation.................................. Actually Shearer slipped through Newcastle's fingers as did many other young lads for whatever reasons. Some that come to mind. Carrick..............West Ham. Charlton J...........Leeds. Charlton R..........Man. Utd. Coates R............Burnly. Robson R............Fulham. Robson B............West Brom? Beardsley............Aye, even Pedro went somewhere else. Gemmill 46523
"Matthew Upson is not a player we are interested in," Roeder told the Newcastle Evening Chronicle. Why would we be eh, Glenn? After all he's a half-decent centre half that wouldn't cost the earth. He goes on to say: "There are no superstars waiting around the corner to come in and help us," added Roeder. "If players are out of contract and have not been snapped up by some club, there is obviously a reason for this." Yeah, the reason for this is that the decent ones were snapped up in the summer, you wanker, but you didn't want them.

sweetleftpeg 0
Has to be a young centre forward from the Championship imo, Nugent hopefully. These are the only kinds of players we're going to persuade to come here other than over the hill journey men, and frankly I'd rather we had a kid out there working his arse off than some 30+ picking up a last big pay cheque. Distin's contract is up in the summer, I say go in with £1-2m in January and see if that'll tempt them to sell rather than lose him for nowt. Shearergol 0
A Newcastle scout was at Scunthorpe last weekend, as was Stuart Pearce. Wouldn't have a clue what the Newcastle scout looks like though, so I can't back the story up.

One and the same, Ray Kennedy (from Seaton Delaval) went from Arsenal to Liverpool. Unless you meant Alan Kennedy at Liverpool, who we actually sold to them so he hardfy slipped through our fingers either. Kennedy and Natrass one of the best full-back pairings we've had, spoilt by Glenn Keeley in the middle tho Ye Younguns know nowt
