Why can't I get to sleep?!

I reckon you can't sleep because you're trying too hard.

Start reading a book, tell yourself you're going to read all night long...and you'll find yourself dropping off in no time.

I know insomnia can be one of the most frustrating experiences, but at least you haven't got the worst kind. Here in the states there was a programme on about people suffering from insomnia that was so bad, they couldn't sleep at all; and eventually died as a result....

poor bastards

Best way of going to sleep (and its worked all 6 weeks of uni this year so far) is listenin to podcasts before you go to sleep.. People talking rather than music.. The ricky gervais show sends me off to sleep in 30 mins max even if Im wide awake when I start it up.. Also look forward to goin to bed these days cos I can listen to them!

I've never really suffered with it before, I think I was so physically exhausted my body went into overdrive to keep me awake earlier in the evening.

That's some sound advice actually, I used to quite like to doze off to a DVD with the commentary on.

I used to watch dvds to sleep but I find that listenin to podcasts means you can shut your eyes and before you know it you just get to sleep! Whereas dvds keeping your eyes open delays how long it takes before you sleep

Well as I said I don't normally have problems sleeping, refer to my reasoning above as to why I couldn't sleep last night.

Although that fact in addition with me having just done 200 press ups in an hour as part of a bet, and I'm doing jitsu from 8 til 10 I think I might have problems again!
