peasepud 59
You seen this? Football tournament admittedly the ad is for yanks but it talks about the tournament.
JJ 0
Thank you mate. Just having a look around right now. Looks quite decent to be fair.

JJ 0
Good mate. Yourself? Just kicking around Peebles right now tbh.
luckyluke 2
Pretty good here. The course is getting a bit serious now, but I seem to be getting drunk more than ever. Having a beer now in an attempt to get off to sleep!
JJ 0
It's the way I guess. I'll be 3 years off the bevvy next month. Mental. Looking forward to the Ashes though. Cannot wait.
luckyluke 2
Good on you mate. I would love to be able to stop for a while, but putting up with all these nobhead students is impossible sober though! Oh aye, I can't wait either. I think we've gone backwards since 2005 though, I'm not that confident. And the less said about the one day side the better...
JJ 0
Aye I agree. I'm excited if not overly confident. However I felt that England looked pretty good in the home series against Pakistan. If England can get Flintoff fully fit they have a chance. Without him it'll not happen IMO. Is Simon Jones anywhere near fitness either? I'd love to see him in the attack over Sajid Mahmood. luckyluke 2
They did indeed, I was there for the last two days for the Headingley test. Jones won't make the Ashes, unfortunately. Cricket's answer to Johnny Wilkinson. I know Fred took all the plaudits but Jones was our best bowler in 2005 by a country mile IMO.
JJ 0
Agreed. Jones was amazing. I just wish he could get fit. I'm just not a big Sajid Mahmood fan. The only person I can think of though that could replace him is Jones though unfortunately. Look for Mahmood to be the weak link if he plays. He's got the pace, he can reverse it, and he's pretty tall. Weak link for me is Steve "one test in five" Harmison.

Harmison needs to be a bit more consistent true, but I've just got a feeling that this is going to be Harmison's time this tour. Someone is going to have to have their moment in Australia a la Michael Vaughan in 2002, and I feel it'll be Harmison. Just a feeling. With Mahmood he can take wickets but I feel he's very erratic. I hope he can do the business though. It'd be great to see.
sammynb 3342
Hate to say it gents but I'd be looking at Australia winning 1-0. It has been to dry for to long and I can see a lot of rain a happening this summer.

It has been to dry for to long and I can see a lot of rain a happening this summer. That would be a major disappointment if that happened and a lot of the Ashes was washed out. How do the Aussies fancy it this time round Sammy? I reckon they must be confident, without underestimating England. I felt England were underestimated last time round. Although in fairness I think most of us were fearing the worst after Lords.
luckyluke 2
Harmison's moment was in the West Indies two years ago tbh. Stage is set for Ian Bell if you ask me (who if I remember rightly you said was shit JJ?)
sammynb 3342
JJ you know I'm not a cricket supporter! (Actually you may of been not posting when we lost the last series.) But judging by the media coverage and colleagues who are cricketeers the confidence is up again. Home pitches/crowds plus a bit of humble pie from the last Ashes tour have commentators getting behind them. It's funny but the success of Australia at the World Cup has got a lot of other sports in Australia worried and therefore they are uping their game in everything from appearance to attitude. It is a well known fact that once football finally breaks in this country the other major sports, including cricket, will all be fighting over the scraps of sponsorship money. Stage is set for Ian Bell if you ask me (who if I remember rightly you said was shit JJ?) I said he was technically sound, but would crack under pressure. Which did happen last summer in fairness. I just thought he was becoming an easy out. Good to see him hitting form though.
