Guest Patrokles
I've noticed a lot of Indian places are bloody expensive.
Meenzer 15347
aloo gobi Smart. There are times when I reckon I could quite happily just have three or four of the veggie side dishes rather than a main meal. But lamb rogan josh is invariably too tempting... Went to this fantastic place in Edinburgh at the weekend, think it was called the 9 Cellars. South Indian focus with a lot of dishes I'd never heard of, but every single sauce was to die for. Even the puris weren't dripping in grease, which you'd think would be a basic prerequisite but it's amazing how many restaurants don't seem to be able to figure it out... There is another dish called "ladies fingers" but the real name escapes me for the moment, if you like aloo gobi you might like that as well, its a sort of green bean type of veg. EDIT. Meenzer 15347
I was going to say, okra, yeah. They're great. Nowt wrong with a good old sag aloo either. Preferably on puri as a starter if there's going to be meat-based carnage for the main course. Edited October 26, 2006 by Meenzer
Tom_NUFC 0
There's a cracking Indian on Heaton Road - Khans. Its not at all bad price wise. I've been in a few times and its always busy and has quite a nice atmosphere. The service and food is really good. A down side is that it doesn't have a licence to serve alcohol, but you're more than welcome to take your own along, and most people do - so I suppose you don't get whacked with the higher prices restaurants charge for a drink. I really recommend it.
sweetleftpeg 0
Went to a place called Komal's near the General hospital last week before the match. Was gorgeous but pretty pricey for an unlicensed restaurant. It's a canny surry house, although I reccomend you skip one street down towards Nuns Moor Park and eat at the Solomon Dharba. Mrs SLP still holds a grudge against us moving away from Fenham on the basis she can't get a take out from there anymore. Bitch.

Brock Manson 0
I've tried a few and they've been great, but haven't made any significant changes to the recipes. Thanks again.
