Bramble started to play well (Ok better) when he had a fit Woodgate alongside him. What the lad needs is someone decent alongside him and proper coaching and he could be OK.

Its doesnt help having Ramage alongside him, who for me has been far worse then Tightarse this season. Especially on Sunday when he let Diouf get in for the second goal!

Bramble and Carr were worse than Ramage on Sunday imo, not that being better than Ramage is the kind of yardstick anyone should be using anyway. O'Brien looked good alongside Woodgate too by the way. I reckon I would too. Obviously that's a pisstake, but you get my point.

Aye Carr was shocking. Ramage defending wasnt great ala Diouf goal number 2, it was his positional play that was poor.

As for the Woody thing, aye you are right.

Re: Ramage, it's always painful to see him run up the pitch and desperately try to put the ball onto his right boot when he receives the ball. Hopelessly out of his depth tbh.

Especially at left back.

He's absolutely useless on the wing like. Mind so is Carr, his supposed specialised position.

I'm not one of Carr's biggest supporters, he's average to poor most of the time, but to compare him to Ramage is shocking. Ramage has consistently put in the worst full-back performances I have ever seen. I admit his face may be getting in the way of an objective assessment, but it's possibly the worst display I've seen in any position, ever.

I do feel sorry for the lad, though, he's hopelessly low on confidence, playing out of position, in a shit team with no idea how to defend, at the most important time in his career. If I remember rightly, he was a couple of months away from being released, when we had very few decent defenders, until things got even more desperate. That speaks volumes.

Your assessment is a tad ott but I agree with a lot of what you say.

It's his face, man, I can't help myself! And I'm a bit prone to that sort of thing anyway...

Speaking of useless full-backs:

Celestine Babarayo, whose three-match Premiership ban has coincided with a groin problem, is free to play in the UEFA Cup, but the former Nigerian international left-back will not have recovered from his injury in time and is more likely to return in Sunday's derby with Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium.

It's the first time I've heard about it, but there's a surprise. What a total waster.

 that made me laugh out loud for some reason. "Oh you've strained your groin as well have you? You FUCKING WASTER!" :D

What an ugly, gormless fucker he is. If footballing ability was tied to how gormless you look our defence would be water-tight with the likes of Ramage and Bramble tbh

In all seriousness, he hasn't got much of a choice.

a ) there's probably pressure from freddy not to let a 5mil investment leave on a free. again.

B ) with Moore leaving also, we won't have a central defense to speak of. if the two of them go, then as of now, we'll probably need three new centre halves. To add to the left back and right back that we need as well.

I for one, am looking for wor Titus's testimonial.

The only way he should get a new contract is if we offer him one for half of his current wage with a £NIL signing on fee, on the understanding that he's been relegated to first team backup. If he won't sign it then let him leave in the summer.
