Radgina 1
I always save up during the year with a hamper company for vouchers with which to buy my Christmas presents so I am not skint during the festive period. I have been informed this morning that the company has gone into liquidation !!!!!!!!!! We are not getting our vouchers and the administrators say we "may" get some money back but not all and it will take many months............that doesn't help me buy and fucking presents now does it!!!!!!! Poundland here I come
Gemmill 44173
That's awful, sorry to hear that. How does the voucher scheme work though, is it really better than just saving cash in a savings account or whatever?

How does the voucher scheme work though, is it really better than just saving cash in a savings account or whatever? I do it this way to ensure that I don't dip into the cash during the year. I get the vouchers for Boots , for the female members of the family, and Choice ones which can be spent in sports shops and HMV etc for the usual playstation games , dvd's, football/rugby kits......I am now £550 down and no spare cash I will just have to utlilse my creative talents and go back to the old fashioned days of making the presents " Look at this lovely scarf I have knitted you Mam and all from an old jumper and two twigs" !! Ah right, so it's discounted gift vouchers, rather than money-off vouchers. I see, I think. £550 is a lot of money to just lose and it leaves you in the shit. Just explain it though, everyone will understand. Mind, if you were related to me and told me that, I'd be getting you fuck all in return.

David Kelly 1217
You'll be alright with Provident. I did some collecting for them a couple of times and they'll loan money to anyone and you only have to pay back a couple quid a week. Mind you, they take your eyes out with the interest for the privelage!
Gemmill 44173
Don't roll your eyes at me, beehatch! Don't go down that route. There are plenty reputable credit card companies with zero interest rate offers on purchases for the first 6 to 9 months. Try one of them.
Guest alex
Anyone know of any loan companies who will take on a bad credit risk .... I'd avoid those sorts of companies if I was you. Very high interest rates. Might be worth talking to the Citizen's Advice Bureau to see where you stand regarding getting some of the money back. If she's a credit risk, she's hardly going to qualify for those tbh Bugger, pre-empted. Edited October 16, 2006 by Sima
Gemmill 44173
I was taking her claims of being a credit risk not entirely seriously. Still worth applying though, if you're already a credit risk it's not gonna hurt your rating to have a knockback on your record.
Guest alex
If you want my opinion, tell people what happened and buy them something small. Getting into financial difficulty or selling stuff for Xmas presents is just daft in my opinion. I'm sure people will understand your predicament and I would hate one of my friends or relatives to buy my presents they couldn't afford.

Happy Face 29
www.moneysavingexpert.com www.rpoints.com Keep browsing the forums on there for bargains. You'll be able to do christmas for a quarter of the price you'd have managed by going to HMV and Boots on the high street.
