Guest Patrokles
Listen, if you two want to talk about literary references, I suggest you do it on PMs. I don't mind what you get up to in private, but that sort of thing should be kept behind closed doors where it belongs! Just because you didn't get the one in the article title Of course I don't get it! I'm STRAIGHT! Was reading books officially gay when you recommended 'In Cold Blood' to me like? In Cold Blood isn't a book, it's a TRUE STORY. and a FILM.

Nah, next on the list along with 100 years of soltiude though. Just finishing Fahrenheit 451 at present. Was I telling you about 'Funeral In Berlin' yesterday by the way? Never thought I'd like spy thrillers but it's class. Definitely going to check out some other Len Deighton stuff.

Guest Patrokles
Hyperion & The Fall of Hyperion are excellent books. Dan Simmons. I'm not really into SF, but those two are great and ideally should be read as a pair.

Early Ballard is SF (-ish) I suppose and Kurt Vonnegut is a genius and most of his stuff is worth checking out. Good SF isn't normally really about the future though, it's about the past/present. The Hyperion cantos have time as a backdrop to everything. They're really great books.
