MattM4 0
I have now switched: in my opinion, South Park: better than The Simpsons. Discuss. I mean come on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCSSUF3i8co
Holden McGroin 6456
I have only ever seen 1 episode of South Park so I went with Simpsons. None of them hold a candle to family Guy though.
Sima 0
I have only ever seen 1 episode of South Park so I went with Simpsons. None of them hold a candle to family Guy though. What utter rot. Family Guy isn't in the same league as the early Simpsons episodes. Yes, everyone knows it's shite now but it was amazing about 10 years ago. To say it's better than SP is just laughable as well. If you've seen the SP episode where it destroys the whole idea of Family Guy you'll get it. Found it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HE75TQ0zAj0...ted&search= IF YOU THINK THAT WAS BAAAAAAAD...... Guest Patrokles
That's not actually a good episode of South Park, though. (the FG one) Having said that, SP is the daddy. Edited October 14, 2006 by Patrokles
Hughesie 0
Simpsons for me all the way. As much as I like SP, I have been watching the Simpsons for more years and finding it hard to watch SP these days (do not know what channel they are on now)
ewerk 30167
South Park, clearly. Its very rare that I'll even get a laugh out loud moment from the Simpsons these days whereas South Park has been able to stay fresh by continually pushing the boundaries and attacking whatever it wants to. Tom 14011
These Days the simpsons, south park when i was younger an bleep was funny. family guy is good but the formula is annoying tbh... ewerk 30167
family guy is good but the formula is annoying tbh... ''like remember when..'' ''just like the time when peter...'' I don't see what the problem is, FG doesn't try and hide the fact that they're just throwing in random gags for an easy laugh, if people like it they like it, if they don't they won't watch. I don't see why SP made such a big deal out of it.

Brock Manson 0
How people can say the early Simpsons episodes are funny is beyond me. Anything before season 3 is diabolical, and didn't even make me laugh first time round. The only bit that has ever made me laugh was when Homer wasn't allowed to swear and stepped on a nial. Family Guy is great in that it's format is basically throwing as many random gags as possible, which is funny as owt iyam. South Park though is the best, the amount of times I've been laughing so hard I can barely breathe is testament to that. The movie is class too. Happy Face 29
I've not seen much of the last 7 or 8 series of the Simpsons but I was pissing myself at a season 13 episode last night where Homer had his jaw wired shut. "So, the substitute teacher comes in and says her name is Mrs. Doody, and everyone's looking at me like, "Take it, Bart! Run with it!" And it hits me, I've become a clown ... a class clown. And it sickens me." Family Guy would never write something that genius, they'd stop at "Doody".
Renton 21052
I went for the Simpsons which is the more influential of the two imo, the early episodes were genius (and there was nothing like it at the time). But really, it depends on the individual episode. Also South Park the film was one of the funniest things in the history of mankind, which kind of is a problem, as it is virtually impossible for the series to hit those peaks again. I've seen Family Guy on occasion and 'meh' would sum up my feelings on it.
Jill 0
Simpsons is gash, always has been, always will be. South Park is amusing in a childish way. Family Guy cracks me up - the earlier episodes at least, series 4 onwards haven't been as good IMO.

The funniest episodes are the ones where no boundaries are pushed, really. ie, compare Manbearpig or the episode where they say Shit to the brilliance of Casa Bonita or Tsst. Ha! that's the genius of it, at first glance it looks like childish crap, but it's clever satirical twisted geniusness! Anyway, put it this way, if someone came to me and forced me to sit down in front of the TV saying you have to watch 30 episodes in a row now! but you can chose between the two ... I would say South Park, no hesitation now.

Look deeper, although your love for FG leads me to think you are incapable.

Perhaps childish was the wrong word I meant I like it as a bit of light relief - but then I don't watch a great deal of it.
