My boss gets pissed off if you come in when you're genuinely ill on the basis he'll catch your cold or 'flu or whatever.

Does your boss ever actually interact with you Alex??

I will occasionally throw a sickie or a 'mental health day,' but usually I'll go in. If it's a question of not wanting to go to work because I'm sick or being sick because I don't want to go to work than I tend to err on the side of the latter.

this new place has a brutal sick scheme, if you have one occassion of absence in the first 6 months, you get your first and final warning, off again and they boot you.

after 6 months you're given 3 occassions of absence before they kick you out.

harsh but fair I suppose.

at the window job I was self employed, so No Work- No Pay

Does that include absences with doctor's notes? Harsh but harsh if so!
