Gemmill 47706
TWO of Newcastle's fixtures in the New Year have been switched for Sky Sports coverage. The home game with Manchester United on New Year's Day will now kick off at 5.15pm, and not 3pm as previously arranged. And the trip to White Hart Lane to face Tottenham Hotspur will now be played on Sunday January 14, kicking off at 4pm, rather than a 3pm start on the previous day. The New Years Day one isn't the end of the world tbh. Gives people more time to get over their hangovers. Even though New Year is shit.

luckyluke 2
It's just another night out tbh, only with greater expectations which usually means its wank. It is possible to have a good one though.
Gemmill 47706
Too many people intent on partying (I hate that word, it's so American) extra hard because it's New Year though. That plus the added anticipation renders it shit.
geordieshandy 0
Best just stay in, and be in bed by eleven. Perhaps a small sherry if you're staying up to go first footing, but don't get carried away.

There'll be no public transport though, meaning major congestion around 7.30 when it's pitch black and freezing. Fucking sick of stupid kick off times. That plus the added anticipation renders it shit. This basically means Gemmill has no mates who he can 'party' with, so has to make it miserable for everyone else. Holden McGroin 7046
In all honesty it has got out of hand now. eg I used to love a rare european football night 10-15 years ago (even if it did just inlcude man u or arsenal). Now i dont even bother watching. Toon or nothing on SKY now.

Gemmill 47706
I agree. There's FAR too much football on telly these days. What happened to the days when they would show a match because it held some sort of interest outside of the towns that the two teams came from?! I mean is there anyone that really wants to watch Reading v Boro or Portsmouth v Watford on a Monday night?!
