JJ 0
I know it's a tired old line, but IF FIT I feel that Sutton would do a job for us. He's still decent. However, I fully expect to be shot down in flames for that statement.

Craig 6670
Serious JJ, do a search for Chris Sutton on here and you'll find J69 saying we missed a trick not signing him and EVERYONE on here slating him for it!

Shearergol 0
Youl probably see craig saying Larsson is past it too and Barca must have been daft to take him Changed your tune now. You always claimed I said that, despite there being ZERO evidence of it. I also gave you a link to the board where we all discussed the move at the time, but you stopped replying. Odd. By the way, if you STILL think we should have signed Chris Sutton, you're a bigger idiot than you were when you suggested it a year ago.

To be fair I'm not surprised. I'd think most people wouldn't rate Sutton. I just feel he might still have a year or so left in him. Although this board would be shite if we all thought the same thing.

JJ 0
Boumsong did a good job at Rangers. This is a fun game. You could seriously play this game for days. Just because a player was great at one club does not mean he'll be great somewhere else. And likewise a player can be utter horse at one club then do the business somewhere else. Like Kanu. Like Viana. Like Boumsong. Like Crouch. Like Henry. Like Robbie Keane. Like Roy Keane to a certain extent (although he was struggling with injury, much like Sutton funnily enough at Birmingham). Like Veron. Like Jeffers. Like Danny Murphy. Like Nicky Butt. etc. etc.

Chris Sutton last performed to any level in the Premiership over 7 years ago. OK, he looked alright at Celtic, but do you also think we should sign Dion Dublin, or John Hartson? Thinking that Sutton could do a job for us stinks of the desperation some of our fans have fallen into. I'm struggling to see how any of your examples fit the bill by the way. How many of those players performed in the Premiership nearly a decade ago, then failed for 2 clubs in a row?

PFA Young Player of the Year when he played for them too. Another poor example tbh; keep trying.

How many of those players performed in the Premiership nearly a decade ago, then failed for 2 clubs in a row? As for Scott Parker at Chelsea. I can only go on what I saw of him at Chelsea, and I thought Chelsea had overspent on him. You'd have to ask a Chelsea fan, and as you say most of them seemed to think he did a good job. Don't know about you, but I've got better things to do than watch Chelsea week in week out. Dion Dublin is a shit example, as he was shit at Celtic. John Hartson? He had done well, but had slipped quite a bit towards the end of his Celtic career. He was still scoring goals, but had somehow got even slower. Times would be harsh. I'm not saying it's a good idea to say a player is good if he's not done the job at 2 Premiership clubs in a row. However if making signings was that easy managers would never make mistakes. It's a bit difficult for him to perform consistently well in the Premiership for 7 years mind if he's only played in it for a year and a half in that time. And to say that Scott Parker was injured for a lot of his time at Chelsea is your defence and then say Sutton, who spent a good portion of his time at Birmingham struggling for any sort of match fitness shows he's too shite for the Premiership is a poor example. I'm not saying Sutton would bang in 20 goals a season, but how many of our current strikers could come close to reaching those heights? Talking of desperation, some people now seem pleasantly surprised with how Sibierski has performed. What's he done so far? Oh aye, scored against Tallinn. Akin to scoring against Rochdale in the FA Cup. As for the examples I'm putting there, if you'd bothered to read what I quoted in reply, and then how I started my own post, you'd have understood what I was talking about. It's like walking in half way through a conversation then not understanding why you're not sure what's going on.

It's like walking in half way through a conversation then not understanding why you're not sure what's going on. So firstly, you form an opinion on how Scott Parker played for Chelsea, then you point out that you didn't actually watch much of Chelsea. Interesting. The Parker example was yours by the way, so yes, it's a poor example, gald you've seen it now. He was quality up until the game in which he broke his foot. You say that Sutton was struggling for match fitness, yet still claim he would have been a good signing? Amazing, simply amazing. I'm not sure your last sentence actually makes sense by the way. You're comparing a player who hasn't performed for his last 2 Premiership clubs, to players like Roy Keane, and Hugo Viana. You honestly can't see how they are completely different?
