Mad-on-the-cocks 0
Film on Four at 9pm or 10pm Film on Four+1, spoke about this film numerous times on various websites, one of the best drama's I have seen, funny and sad, miners in the Thatcher days, depression, sacrifice, also it evolves around the pits brass band, don't miss it. seriously. Their is a comment the son makes which is "He can take John Lennon. He can take those three young lads down at Ainsley Pit. He's even thinking of taking my dad. And Margaret Thatcher LIVES!?! What's he playing at?"

Renton 22703
Superb film imo, far superior to the likes of the Full Monty or Billy Elliot.

True, but I mentioned it because they are comparable films which recieved much more praise from the critics. Billy Elliot in particular I thought was shit to the point of offensiveness. Brassed off however I regard as a classic.
snakehips 0
Brassed Off, a Classic?? The one with Ewen Macgregor (sp) in? A Classic? Ya shittin' me, right??? Mildly amusing at best. For anyone who hasn't seen it, you haven't missed anything.

I liked the plot, setting, characters, music and humour. However, the over-riding feeling the film gives is despair, although the ending was thankfully uplifting. I saw the play of it at the theatre Royal too where they had a brass band - they had half the audience blubbing.
sweetleftpeg 0
Stick me in the good film camp. I enjoyed it, despite Tara Fitzgerald not getting her chebs out.
Happy Face 29
I was happy to see Anne Hathaway get her chebs oot in Brokeback Mountain. Anyone who hasn't made sure to watch it is a puff.

luckyluke 2
Brassed Off is a brilliant film, anyone who says otherwise is a philistine. Or Margaret Thatcher. Or both.
