but itf it's an inevitability, why not at least go there with the intention of trying to win, instead of this pathetic capitulation.

it's the footballing equivalent of rolling over onto our backs and whimpering

if it's inevitable, why not instead of starting an unfit striker, start the one who bagged a brace in Europe, instead of having a Spanish soap opera star on the bench, why not have a promising kid?

better to burn out than to fade away, so says the Kurgen

I agree, if people genuinely believe we go there with absolutely no hope of winning whatsoever, wouldn't it be better to at least have a go with positive attacking and lose than go there and try to hang on desperately in 90 mins of being scared of manu and lose!

To be honest mate, I don't really care about this game. We were nailed on to get beat. If we'd gone and attacked them, we'd maybe be several down by now with no plan B, we certainly wouldn't be beating them. Whatever we'd done we'd be losing. I hate this fixture.

Wow, a performance directly out of the Graeme Souness text book of match tactics. "Let's frustrate the crows, sit back and hope that they waste their chances all afternoon". We look as threatening as the Swiss Army of the Vatican.

I hate this fixture.

am I alone in wishing that we had this fixture the first game of every season?

get it out of the way, easy to bounce back from (you can blame it on new players having trouble settling in etc.) and you know you won't have to face Man U at OT again in the league so it won't interrupt any good run you manage to string together.

The only difference is that was also Souness' tactics for home matches as well!

Taylor and Ramage look like each other?

Ramage and Moore tbh

They look like different stages in the transformation to Mr. Hyde tbh.

Also (though not this season) catching manu early is often best, before they get up to full speed and start stringing the wins together.

But whenever it is i want tos ee us go there and actually have a go, not cling on pittifully in a style of play we aren't good at, and wait for a defeat.

Roeder could be genuinely worried about the effect a 5-0 drubbing would have on the next 6 games. At least if we fight hard and lose 2-0 we can avoid that scenario. I'm reaching here, and I don't rally agree with what he's doing.

Get yourselves ART Sport, it's CHEAP!

For those who aren't watching this, it's not as bad as the radio coverage seems to be making out. We've done pretty well defensively and Butt's been particularly important to that (are you listening Renton!) The problem is that you can't expect to just soak up the pressure for 90 minutes (or 45) when playing against a team of Man U's quality.
