The Fish 11111
I think it's about time we had a knee jerk reaction to this lad. I've taken as much notice of him as I can through the foggy pane of the goggle box and it strikes me that he's decent.... but not worth £10m, he's certainly no better than the othe rplayers that we werde linked with, players who we could have got at a lower price. I hope that the brace against Levadia on thursday is an indication of things to come but lets not forget that he was pretty average for the first half. I'm looking at the players we've brought in and see Sibierski do far better than I had expected and flashes of Rossi, but the player that came with the big reputation hasn't really hit the ground running. He seems a good yard or two off the pace, his passes and first touches are indistuishable from each other at times. He has the pace to reclaim a bad touch, but surely an Inter player would have learnt how to receive the ball without needing to chase 3 yards after it. so I have my doubts about Obafemi... certainly not fit to wear the Number 9... give it to Shola
Toonpack 10528
The thing Shola deserves more than anything is his operation and chance to get properly fit

TheInspiration 1
I love how there's always doubts over new players at this club, so quickly also. There's always people who aren't content with something. He's just settling in and he's done pretty well imo. He should have scored at least twice against Everton, and I think with more games he'll be putting those chances away - the important thing is he's getting the chances. Jimbo 175
Oba needs time, but already he's looking a better buy than Shevchenko and Bellend.
Kid Dynamite 7336
Kevin Davies is the closest we will ever get to a like for like player for shearer. He was immense today! Just doesnt score very much
Ted Maul 0
I think we need a strike partner that will compliment Martins to get the best out of him.

Chaser 1321
I hate to say it but we should have got JFH in the summer. He's not a long term solution but would definitely have improved the squad for this season
The Fish 11111
The last line of your post is laughable. Shola isn't good enough and never will be, bench warmer at best well maybe, MAYBE I was kidding about Shola?...I would have thought a wink smiley would have been overstating the obvious.. guess I was wrong one serious concern about Martins is that if we play our best team, it's incredibly short across the park. -------------------Given --------Carr Moore Taylor Bernard Dyer/Milner Parker Emre Duff/N'Zogbia --------------Owen Martins It's only Moore and Taylor above 6' and while I know height may be the last thing on your mind when you defence is shipping goals left right and centre I think that there are obvious advantages in both attack and defence with a tall team. oh and Jimbo, your comment about Bellamy is crackers unless you mean his fledgling career for Liverpool?
