The girlfriend had something like that when I first met her, that and an Ernie doll. Used to sit up on a shelf and watch over us as we slept, scary bastard. One night I woke up to hear this low pitched wailing in the pitch blackness, like someone trying to talk while dosed up on morphine. Ernie had run low on batteries, I nearly shat myself.

My friend told me a similar story; she was given a teddy bear as a child that spoke when you pressed it, and she rolled onto it in her sleep and was terrified by a disembodied 'I love you!'
