Dolly Potter MD 0
One of my favourite artists/bands [for a couple of years now] is HTRK. Really original. Minimalist in the way of lyrics, beautiful & interesting music though - the track 'Fascinator' fits the bill re: the beautiful tag. Their bassist [RIP S.Stewart] commited suicide last year, those moody bass riffs will be missed as they're the heartbeat of their best tracks. Happy Face 29
Got the new Cut Copy and Iron & Wine albums for tomorrow. The Cut Copy one is great. 80's synth dance pop in the vein of Hot Chip/LCD soundsystem. For example... I got In Ghost Colours when it came out, bt tat didn't impress me as much. In future, can you not leave it 5 days between 'am listening to it' and 'the review'. Been that pressed for time i nearly bought it on the basis of your mention without listening first. Will have to listen to it now. Am trying out Adele (not sure), Joan As Policewoman (promising), Anna Calvi (liking it) and Agnes Obel (needs more listens). Dont know which one to get though. Meenzer 15740
I'm not usually fussed when musicians shuffle off this mortal coil, least of all 80somethings who'd been battling cancer for some time - but I saw Charlie Louvin in Nashville last summer, still putting on a fine show despite his illness, so I reckon the fella at least deserves an RIP and a couple of clips here.
