K'Naan - TIA

I take rappers on a field trip any day

They never been opposite real clip anyway

I know where all the looters and the shooters say

Welcome to the city we call Doomsday.

When niggaz is just fried chicken like Tuesday

Oh you from the hood huh, who say?

My Nigerian niggaz would call you Pussy

My Somali niggaz are quick to grab the uzi

Around here we only bumping Fela Kuti

Tupac, or Bob Marley, Lucky Dube.

So we don't really give a fuck about your groupies

This Is Africa, Hooray.

I deliver what they need like milk crates

I learned from the deadly streets no regrets

And I wasn't ever looking for street cred

But these streets bred me to be street safe

It's no secret we know how to squeeze lead

But the Pre-set is not to have to squeeze it

Used to be at peace but now we using T-Shirts

And it reads RIP cause the peace dead

When I walk through the slums like (Nomane?)

Little children say K'naan Bumaye?

The rap game just got itself a new day

This is Africa, Hooray.

Immense.

This one track has me thinking The Decemberists might not have the best album of 2009 after all. Need to get hold of The Troubador quick.

...and he looks like Bubble off of the Wire :(

Peter Frampton - Show me the way

I have to do this live and I am debating whether to buy a talkbox for the solo or do it with a wah pedal, not the same without a talkbox but I think I would have to either piss around with my amp whilst on stage or take two amps to pull it off

Depends how authentic you need to be I suppose.

Do you reckon you could get away with a Wah and a really dirty sounding distortion?

EDIT: I've always fancied having a go of a talkbox. Never seen one in real life though.

Well I don't know really but If I am playing something so specific I would feel cheap if I played it with a wah pedal, it's nearly there but not quite!

You can get a Danelectro ''Free Speech'' talk box for £70 so second hand maybe quite cheap.

I will see though, seems expensive for one solo!

Now: Jessica - Allman Brothers Band (Top Gear tune for those who dont know). Rock Radio play the full version with the long solo. Loving it :huh:

Jesus, as I edit this the next track is Crossroads - Cream (live version) guitar-tastic

Jason Mraz - We Sing. We Dance. We Steal things.

I'm also looking forward to the new Green Day album in May.

Apparently they have made a really special album, in 3 ''acts''.

It's wonderful to see a band develop like that to go from the over complication and aestheticly challenged 'Warning' to a back to the basics album which is somehow a rock opera to another backwards album!
