Blue note have just released an album with the new crop of jazz bands performing Blue Note classics.

So people like the Ezra Collective, Jorja Smith, Skinny Pelembe, etc and it's interesting hearing their take of these tunes.

anyone into the fall? i always meant to try to set some time aside to try to get into them but dunno where to start really, the made so many albums

The Fall, never heard of them.

Meenzer would probably recommend just going down the high street after closing time if you wanted to hear pissed idiots yelling, me I'd suggest - I Am Kurious Oranj or Hex Enduction Hour or any of the Peel Sessions just to get a sample of them.

Just to make it easy for you Gloomy here are links to all The Fall's Peel Sessions:

The Fall hit their straps once they moved from that raw punk sound to post punk in the early 80s.

Fuck look at all that hair!!!

No they're a little bit to King Gizz light for me.

Talking Gizz I'm more into this stuff they do than the psychodelic hippy shite.

Landmark day tomorrow as we get a new Sting album AND a new Ringo Starr album. Now That’s What I Call Brexit!

Don’t knock Sting. He can fuck for 144 hours and wasn’t in favour of Brexit.

Watched Creation Stories...it’s ok-ish...you’re all far better off with the playlist though..

Way to much Oasis in that list considering all the stuff Creation released.

Chill Out by KLF has been one of my go-to albums for longer than I care to remember- I first had it on cassette in France, then a ripped CD which got lost in my travels, and for a long time I didn’t have it.
It’s been available on YouTube for a few years,  all because Drummond and Cauty deleted it from their catalogue years ago, so it’s only been dodgy copies.
Anyway, after that preamble, they’ve finally released a remixed version this year on stream, it’s virtually exactly the same, some samples removed, some added, just added it to my Apple Music catalogue. :spinwank:

( ironically, the easiest way for me to share it here is via YouTube, so…)

Edit, - On review, it’s more than just a few  “small changes”- whilst it’s essentially the same, it’s not the Classic album ,

Why do artists do this- fuck around with their well loved stuff?

FTAO @sammynb

The man in this article  sold me a transparent yellow copy of (I’m) Stranded by the Saints in April 2016....

Hum is a funny store, they were a bit of a chain 10-15 years ago, mainly doing dance CDs and terrible shit, now there is one store left in Sydney’s version of Camden Town and it still feels like weird to me.

Nice to know they once sold a decent record.

Fist I think I’ve got a digital copy of the original chill out somewhere in the downloads, I’ll flick it to you when I find it.
