bobbyshinton 59
I went to the lakes Bowness. Suprised at how commercialised it was Went into a bar (hole in the wall) there is a bloke who seems to be a local legend. He sits with an acoustic guitar, punters shout out song titles or artists and he plays them. I heard him play 20 plus songs ranging from Tom Jones to Oasis. Well worth a visit. JawD 99
I went to Planky Mill with the dogs. Took sarnies and everything. Kept one for when I got home. Only to find when I get back the dog within 5mins of me leaving him went into the bag, bit into my juice bottle, took a bit out of my apple, "unwapped" the foil of my sarnie and ate it. Bastard then went in his bed and slept it all off!

The leading lady (Sylvia Simms in this case) falling for the leading man (John Mills) but I know what you mean. It's totally unneccessary. It's a bit dated and cheesy in parts but overall I think it's a quality movie. I think being made in the early 60's (iirc) helped in that the war was still fresh in people's memories but far enough in the past for the Germans in the film (most notably Anthony Quinn as the Nazi spy) to not be portrayed as evil stereotypes. Rope bridge n that? 186484[/snapback] Aye, its basically off the A69 at the Alston turn off and past Langley Castle. Then its off to the right, until you get to another turn off that takes you down to the river. The first bridge has been closed after a young lass died there the other year, but another opened across the bottom. Its been done up a bit in the last year with more secure pathways and bridges going over. Still got a rope swing from a tree like

I was in Ilfracombe, Exeter and somewhere else whose name escapes me, completely ratted.
