from what i've seen of Luque, he's pacy, powerful, direct, good on the ball, a decent crosser, and he has on the best left-peg's in europe, his left foot makes Robert's efforts into L7 look timid

if we had bidded the right money first he could of possibly been on tyneside for a medical today!

Then the 3:30 Friday press conference would've went down in Toontastic folk law!

You can't blame Shepherd for trying to save a bit of cash with the first bid, assuming the deal still goes through with an improved bid. Whatever your first bid is they'll always ask for more.

If the deal goes through, Deportivo themselves would be looking to bring in a new striker, with the likes of Marc Viduka and Carlton Cole having been mentioned on Spanish websites recently.

;)

Viduka, Cole and Ameobi. At this rate they could end up with a worse strikeforce than ours.

We also have the problem that we've gone from trying to sign three players to just signing one. Perhaps we're still in for Anelka too, which would explain why we're keeping money back.

course not, its the same in every business or transaction. The final selling price is usually somewhere between what was first asked for and the offered. Any excuse to have a go at Shepherd eh

Marca says they'll go for D'Alessandro if Luque leaves.

They're more than welcome to Michael Chopra if they can meet our valuation.

Do they make Monster Munch in Spain?

Not really looking like it's going to go through. Anyone see Souness on SSN? He sounded very pessimistic about the whole thing. He said he won't settle for 3rd or 4th choice players though and that Luque is the type of quality he is after.
