If you look at the Spam coming in the last couple of months have seen a big upsurge in emails supposedly from every finacial institution under the sun all saying "click this"

 

My bank has never contacted me by email - infact the buggers never answer the phone or have anyone in the branch either when I want to speak to them - so why would they email me all of a sudden ???

They'd never email me. They’d contact me via letter or over the phone, but as for the threat all though I have had an increase in spam this is the first time my full address, name & postcode has been included.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. They've got your email address and they've got your name and home address. This stuff isn't difficult for them to get their hands on. I would just delete the email and forget about it if I were you.

 

Anything you buy online you would provide these details, and they could easily then be sold on. You just have to not get caught out by these people, but the fact that they have your details isn't that out of the ordinary.

Worthy of a call to your bank, but I'd be inclined to ignore the email as spam, details or no. I would think that if there really was legitimately suspicious activity happening your bank would contact you immediately- maybe it's different policies but mine was on the phone with me within two hours of a load of debit transactions going thru my account. They aren't used to me just going shopping for a day with friends.
