Gemmill 44090
We might end up with some nice new gold fixtures and fittings around SJP. Maybe a statue of this sheikh outside the ground. Half-time hookahs from the pie shop. This could be class.
Jimbo 172
Has this been posted yet? http://www.ft.com/cms/s/e3d05f92-30b0-11db...00779e2340.html 181967 Are they suggesting that the belgravia group are actually acting on behalf of a client rather than buying the club themselves? 181971 Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed al-Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai. Guest alex
He took them all on - they were within 2 weeks of going bust and he took it all on 181957 Tis totally true apparently... They were all set to accept a £10m offer for John Terry as well if rumour is right 181979 From us. 181980 I think we ended up getting Woodgate instead, that was about the same time (or a bit later) iirc. No guarentee he would have developed into the player he has up here though.
GafferTape 0
Am I the only one who wouldn't like a Sheik then? I'd fear of him getting bored pretty quickly leaving us with a megabilliongazillion wage bill and fuck all else.
Gemmill 44090
Are you his agent Gemmill ? 181982 I wish! Anyway, it says in that article that he bought a stake in some Formula One team. Have they made any great strides since then?
Gemmill 44090
Am I the only one who wouldn't like a Sheik then? 181984 If we had a mongowabulous wage bill, we'd have a squad full of insanely valuable players to sell off in the event of him getting bored. It's always a risk like, but it could be canny in the meantime.

He won't want to miss out on that though. Mind I'd make him wear one of those things on his head just so he knew he was the Sheik's bitch.

ChezGiven 0
I dont think Shepherd has to sell if they want to takeover. Presumably SJH is talking to Fred about any possible deal but dont they just need 51% for them to have control over the club? The problem i reckon with this deal is that Freddy and the rest of the board think the fake sheik from the NOTW is trying to pull another fast one and is understandably a bit paranoid about selling the club to a journalist. I know what's important to our loyal band of followers and the Geordie Nation can rest assured that I will never allow dirty money to soil this proud club. Why Aye man, Geordie, Stottie Cake." GafferTape 0
If it's not a Sheik, and it's just a bunch of venture capitalists, will the saga over the super casino have anything to do with this? ie them seeing potential profit in this etc, and not giving a fuck about the team? Gemmill 44090
I wouldn't mind a super-casino either. I'm just a dirty, dirty accountant, and it's all about the money tbh.
