JawD 99
"There's no pressure to bring anyone in as such. If truth be known, last year we won plenty of games with this present squad, but we want to add to it as we want to do better than last year," he said. Its wasnt quite with that present squad because we also had and used Shearer and Chopra. Neither of which have been replaced.
David Kelly 1260
That is probably the first bit of complete bollocks he's spouted since his appointment. It's also very worrying in that it's a change of tune and suggests to me that he may be being stopped from spending by the fat man.
JawD 99
I also noted how he has changed from buying premiership proven players to now "scouring the world".

Guest Patrokles
The reason we're scouring the world is because we exhausted every possible proven premiership avenue. Credit to Roeder for not being bloody-minded about it and widening the net (Which most people wanted him to do anyway).
JawD 99
Id agree that Id rather he did just "widen the net". I think this whole thing comes down to "hindsight is a wonderful thing". Who we might have kept and went for at the start of the window might have beeen very different.

Obviously concentrating on proven PL players make sense but not at the cost of rushing in the last two weeks to get in a player we haven't researched well after we miss out on our primary targets. This talk about making do with our present squad doesn't fill me with optimism.
