themags 0
me and the other half need someone to live desperately. Seen a few places to rent in Chester-Le-Street and it seems ok for me to get to work and for her to find work in Durham/Newcastle/gateshead and it's still only 45 minutes away from my family just wondering if we have any locals from there on here, anything I should know about, etc? failing that is bobbyshinton's spare room still available? Renton 22497
J69 is from CLS, don't know if that helps make your mind up. I lived there for a year about 10 years ago. I didn't really like it tbh - a bit insular and too many mackems. Transport links are good though.
manc-mag 1
Got family next door in Houghton. Chester has a nice 'town' centre, but its chav central. Mackem chav central in point of fact. But aye, its convenient for toon/Gateshead and the sooth all at the same time. As good a bet as any place for a move.
Gemmill 47227
Transport links are good, Renton? My immediate thought was bus-tastic to get there from town, plus taxis from town would cost a mint. Too far out for my liking if you have any links with Newcastle.

themags 0
quick scan of buses, about 40 minute journey in to newcastle, first bus at 4.32am (who the hell travels that early) from 6.30 on wards it's every 5 minutes, so yeah bus-tastic

Plus there's the train and Express buses. One problem is though it is just outside T&W so bus passes aren't valid iirc.

Kid Dynamite 7328
Better now than it has been in decades. -Hourly Trains North and South to all Major Cities -Ten mins from Newcastle -Five mins from Durham -Few decent restaurants now -3 Nightclubs and about 20 pubs -Big Tescos just opened -Cricket Ground brings in a lot of revenue - Elton John and UB40!!!!! -House prices are likely to rise with it being an expanding town. You could do a lot worse tbh. In my whole life I cant say ive ever been threatened, mugged, shouted at etc. on the streets. Working in Darlington however it happened on a weekly basis!
