Guest Patrokles
If it's true then I imagine we'd probably shell out the most in wages and gurantee first-team football, whereas Spurs wouldn't break their wage structure (and have enough strikers). In which case it'd depend on whether he fancied the Premiership or La Liga more.
JohnB 0
Chelsea are predictably being linked with him today now that they have sold Crespo, will probably price him out of a move for us. Edited August 7, 2006 by JohnB

JohnB 0
Is almost certainly the case, but if Inter catch wind of the rumours they will up the asking price regardless. Don't reckon we should be going in at any more than £6-8m, we can't afford to

Baggio 0
Internazionale striker Obafemi Martins has asked to be placed on the transfer list. The 21-year-old informed the Nerazzurri of his decision upon hearing the news that Hernan Crespo had signed from Premiership champions Chelsea. With the likes of Adriano and Julio Cruz also at the San Siro, Martins would have had to scrap for a regular starting berth, but he has chosen instead to seek out a new club. There was plenty of interest in the forward last term, but Inter's valuation of €25 million (£17.4 million) deterred the suitors. According to Martins' agent, Premiership clubs Tottenham, Newcastle and Portsmouth are possible destinations. Spanish outfit Valencia have also been strongly linked with a move for the Nigerian

The Fish 10663
well he wants out, they've already got his replacement/improvement, better strikers are available (Ibrahimovic, etc. ) I think we're at the right time to sign a player like Martins, who has the pace and strength to do well in the prem in my eyes. Guest alex
Would trying to get Martins on a loan deal (they've just got Crespo on one) possibly be the best solution for all parties? Not ideal for us long-term but we're desperate now.
