Emre 0
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/main.jhtm...06/sfneng06.xml nice to hear.... hope hes goes for something different for the friendly and lets hope Parker gets his call up.
MattM4 0
Hope he actually goes for a good team rather than trying to keep all the big names happy. God, still can't believe what an anticlimax the whole Sven at WC06 was. What a retard.

Holden McGroin 7034
He has a touch of class about him. Doesn't have a lot of pace though. Better than Peter Crouch.

Holden McGroin 7034
Errr. yes he his. Crouch is gash. I think Ameobi scored more PL goals than him last year.

Craig 6703
I'd have Ashton over Crouch in either Newcastle's or England's team any day of the week....
The Fish 11122
absolutely, but I was just saying that Crouch adds something else to a team, not Goals, just as Bellamy did with us
Craig 6703
I think Ashton adds more. Crouch's height offers us a target on set pieces and long balls but little else. Ashton is IMO, the nearest thing the English game has seen to Alan Shearer..
The Fish 11122
trouble is, the team that are succesful in the Prem aren't playing with "Traditional center forwards" so shouldn't we try their way?
Craig 6703
True, but then we don't have the in depth strength that they do... For all their lack of traditional centre-forwards, their side is built around 5 players IMO: Cech, Terry, Makelele, Cole, Lampard Our equivalent is: Given, Bramble, Parker, Duff, Emre I think two of that core need to be improved for us, but then of course a striker is more important and needed more. Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
An Ashton call-up is surely bad news for clubs interested in signing him? Probably allows West Ham to stick another million on his value. He'd still be my number one choice mind.
tinofbeans 91
me too. better player than crouch technically and offers more variety. sadly i doubt we'd be able to afford him... Edited August 7, 2006 by canofbeans
