Craig 6707
Dunno about anyone else, but I cringed like hell at that film. The book it's based on however (The Season Ticket) is excellent!

The Fish 11128
goal is better than Purely Belter for a couple of reasons 1) Shearers performance in Goal pisses on his acting in PB 2) Bit more blart to ogle in Goal 3) most importantly, the kids playing the main roles in PB are clearly mackems
Ted Maul 0
I've been out a for drink with Chris Beattie (Gerry) out of Purely Belter once or twice. Very, very wierd lad. I've got tonnes of stories about him but they could be liabelous so i'll refrain from posting them. Toonraider 0
I enjoyed both films, but then im not a geordie. Goal is abit 'corny' but very watchable.
Matt 0
Goal is exactly what you expect it to be- but it's fun enough. Purely Belter is just shite.

WubbleUC 0
3) most importantly, the kids playing the main roles in PB are clearly mackems. One of them is, the big one I think. Oh, and Craig is reet like, the Book 'The Season Ticket' is much better than the film.

Seen as no one else has asked.... I haven't seen Purely Belter either, but I've read the book which was canny. The book's quite sad though - I gather the film doesn't bother with that part of it? Renton 22714
That's because you're a contrary tosspot, Renty baby! 165089[/snapback] No, it's because the book was poorly written and the film was a poor adaptation of a piss poor book! I did like Goal though, on a superficial level.
