wykikitoon 19792
I want to take my lady away for a weekend Fri Sunday and wouldnt mind London or Edinburgh. I havent been to neither so I would like to know which is the better? I shall be travelling down about 6ish on Fri and I can return anytime on Sunday. We enjoy walking, restaurants, beers and general attractions. Or if someone can suggestion somewhere else? Cheers
Guest alex
Both would be good on that score tbh. Doesn't the Edinburgh Festival start soon though? The place will be manic once that gets underway.
Meenzer 15330
Aye, if it's not festival time then definitely Edinburgh, it's particularly gorgeous in the sunshine. At least London's got the bonus of being big enough that you can avoid the crowds if you need to. All the major tourist attractions are pretty mental at the minute though. Guest Toplass-101
Ive only ever been to London when the Toon have been playing. I wouldn't go just for the sake of it, too many cockneys for my liking. Maybe if there is a show on you'd like to see then it may be worth a trip down, but Edinburgh gets my vote, nicer people and its a lovely place. Rob W 0
By the end of October it'll be both cold and dark in Edinburgh - go to London - it'll be (pretty) quiet and the Xmas rush won't have started
Meenzer 15330
London's probably at its nicest if you can catch it on a sunny autumn weekend actually, yeah. The parks can be lovely. If it's grim and grey then it's a complete hellhole, obviously.
Renton 21002
Of course with cheap flights you could go anywhere else in Europe if you have a passport. I'd go to Barcelona personally. Or Liverpool.
