Scottish Mag 3
Leeds United have taken former Newcastle defender Robbie Elliott on trial. The experienced left-back, who has turned down a new 12 month contract at St James' Park, featured in Saturday's 2-1 friendly defeat against Hartlepool. Eliott, who played the full 90 minutes, was not the only trialist on display. Former Celtic youngster Mark Fotheringham also featured against the League Two outfit. GafferTape 0
Hope we'll have a decent wedge left after our striker spending to sign a decent left-back. Babayaro and no cover left...

Craig 6682
Good luck to him - for all the shit that's been thrown his way since he came back to us, he was an exciting prospect in his first stint here. Never was the same after his injury problems at Bolton...
Guest alex
Best celebration ever tbh. 164113 I was at the game (away to Leicester) when he first did that. Soopafantastic tbh.
FoggontheTyne 0
It makes sense to sell defenders when we have none coming in. Leaves us wafer-thin in the left back position.

Leaves us wafer-thin in the left back position. 164210 He was 2nd choice, virtually retired and out of contract so what are you moaning about? We've bought one great player with the clear intention that we’re bringing other players in.

sweetleftpeg 0
I don't understand, he was offered a contract here but he's whoring himself round the Championship, resulting in this latest bottom of barrel scraping.

It's what Bergkamp has accepted at Arsenal for the past 5 or 6 years....
Guest alex
Might just want to play 1st team football. Or if he goes to the Mackems, he could be a double agent.

Scottish Mag 3
The fact he has been on trial at both Leeds and Sunderland surely is a sign that even as back up he is far from good enough to playing at the level we aim to be playing at. Good luck to him, but hopefully the fact he has knocked back the contract is a blessing in disguise and we will finally sing a decent left back (or is that wishful thinking?)
