Guest alex
Watching them through rose tinted (mirror) glasses tbh. 156775 They've played 'well' i.e. in terms of getting results but last night was the most attacking they've played by far. Probably because the idea of facing the Germans on pens was making them shit themselves. 156779 Agree 100%. It was a word play you rassclot! 156785 Get it now

I preferred Falcao's 'vein popping' celebration against Italy in 1982 though. Unfortunately, I'm old enough to remember both games (just).

Wish I'd been old enough to appreciate that Brazil team mind you. Ditto France and Italy. Well Paolo Rossi in any event.

spongebob toonpants 4160
Italy's performance showed our bunch of overhyped players for what they really are. I reckon Gerard and Beckham might have made the bench, I dont think a single Englishman would make the starting eleven. The Italians showed higher skill levels, tactical awareness, especially ball retention and infinitely more bottle
Brock Manson 0
Am I the only one who though Ballack should've been sent off? He'd had a look before he crashed into the player with his arm raised. It's somewhat typical though that the big names such as Figo and Ballack can get away with this sort of behaviour...

I thought my post might have generated a bit more discord. The thought of Rooney with a bit of Italian guile is frightening. Did I hear Alan Shearer last night claiming that apart from Henry nobody from the other teams would get into Englands team. And to think I was all for him being joint manager.
