Toonraider 0
Lunch? LUNCH? Oooooh laaar-de-dar. Will you be having afternoon tea too. I had a cheese and ham sandwich for my dinner. 140397 course we have afternoon tea down here in Devon! ooooo arrrrr Why do you call it dinner? dinner isnt a sandwich Middle of the day is lunch, dinner is an evening meal unless you are like my parents in law who have a cooked meal at 1pm, which is then correctly named Dinner!!! 140416 It's a meal at dinner time, served by dinner ladies - it's 'dinner'. an evening meal is served at teatime - it's 'tea' Lunch is what Essex wives 'do' 140424 well as im not an 'Essex wife' that doesnt fadge!! I was bought up, with lunch being something light in the middle of day, as in a sandwich or something on toast or at school a packed lunch (no dinner ladeeez for me) Dinner was a cooked meal, as in meat and two veg!! if its a meal and served midday, then it is dinner. Tea was like on a sunday, a proper tea as in jelly, ice cream, blanmange(sp) apple pie and custard, sandwiches etc.
Brock Manson 0
Tea is what you eat at home as an evening meal. Dinner is something exquisite, eaten out or with guests. Lunch is a meal eaten at LUNCHtime.

The Fish 10978
I had a tuna and sweetcorn sandwich god I hope this is all worth it. I miss two slabs of bacon, a couple of sausages, beans, black pudding, roasties... haven't had a good fry up in ages 140438 You on a diet like? An entire sandwich is a bit much isn't it? An apple and a yoghurt a day is all you need. The weight will drop off, then you can get back to the fry-ups faster. 140441 I'm not the kind of man who can survive on an apple and a yoghurt a day. I needs me meat! anyway, was told by those in the know that a healthy diet and regular exercise was the best way to lose weight, permanently and heathily. Apple and a yoghurt? I'd end up chewing on the sofa!

I often have a 'fried breakfast' at 7pm. That doesn't make it breakfast, it's my tea. Similarly, whatever you eat at midday is your dinner. Only way to lose weight and keep it off, is by eating a healthy decent meal at the proper times, regular exercise and no eating in between meals less its a piece of fruit. (all types of foods are ok in moderation)

Toonraider 0
proper modern man you've got yourself there pet. do you have his pipe and slipper ready for him when he gets in? you're the type of woman that is putting womens lib back a hundred years. 140457 yes he is a proper man except he detests football And yes i do tend to have his dinner ready for him when he gets in and make him a cuppa or get him a beer...whats up with that? isnt that what its all about? Equally, if he's home when i get in from night shift, he'll make me a cuppa and do my breakfast..... Admittdly i do all the housework, laundry etc at home, but thats cos its easier than having him making a mess of everything Plus if he washes a dish you hear about it forever!! LeazesMag 0
Dinner is 'lunch' if you're common like me. Otherwise it's an evening meal which is tea to me, not to be confused with high tea though which is what posh people have between lunch and dinner 140421 you forgot about "elevenses"
