ChocChip 0
MY Source: My cousin's (who isn't in to football) mate (who is) did some business this week with a guy from Newcastle who has strong links with the club. This guy said he was personal friends with John Carver and the agent who represented Lua Lua and that he knew Bruce Shepherd (who i assume is a relative of Freddie, may be one of who can clarify that). Now, i don't normally like reading gossip because it's mostly b*ll*x or impossible to substantiate but things have gone a bit quiet on here I didn't make this stuff up and nor did my cousin's mate but the Geordie might of, ok! NUFC: Has money to spend but is not going to advertise it. The club is due for a massive cash injection when a propsed casino gets the go ahead some time very soon. Shepherd: Bruce Shepherd said that Freddie had put £6m in to the club and had taken £82m out. My cousin's mate asked him if FS had been behind the Luque transfer, this guy said he had. Management: The only other candidate FS approached was Terry Venebles. NUFC pulled out because of a conversation between Shepherd and Gibson revealed Venebles was playing the 2 clubs off against each other to get the best salary. O'Neil was never in the running because of his wife. Souness attacked a couple of players, not just Bellamy. Shearer will be GR's assistant - Shearer himself said he is not ready for management yet but in 2 years time it will be different. Saunders: When Shearer was practicing a free kick routine after training and scoring regularly Saunders came over and told him he won't be doing on match day because Saunder's said so, Shearer told him to f**K off. Shearer: Normally gives the half time team talks not the manager. Regularly loses his temper in training or at half time and starts slapping the other players around. Victimised Robert and slapped him about often. Hated Bellamy and went for him a couple of times. The pro longed injury period last year was partly an internal suspension because he attacked another player. He will be GR's assistant but not next year, he is contracted to do some tv work. Shearer is great with young kids. Bellamy: Widely hated at the club, used to call everyone names, wound Stephen Carr up so much, Carr decked him. Robert: Fell out with the other players who then refused to pass him the ball if they had any other option, was completely ostracized within the club, especially by Shearer. Butt: Wants to come back and play. Milner: GR wants him in the squad. Ameobi: Current plan is to have him and Owen up front next season. Luque: They may decide to try him for another year. O'Brien (Alan): Man Utd after him. Pattison: Has a BIG future apparently. Faye & Boumsong: Won't be here next season. If i remeber anything else i'll post it up. Should be enough there to start a few rows anyway

Gemmill 46093
I love the image of Shearer slapping Robert about. Bruce is Freddie's brother btw, and a lot of the above sounds plausible, although I'm not sure about the casino thingy. Hope it's true though cos we desperately need the cash. Therefore I would treat the rest of it with a bit of skepticism. Complete bullshit in other words. As an aside, I'm not sure a casino would be good for the city. The guy was going on about building plans for the casino, i think he was an engineer or something to do with construction. Anyway, you live there so i guess you'd know if they were going to do something major! Funnily enough, the only thing my cousin's mate said that he thought was definitely bullshit was the bit about FS buying Luque, he said the guy 'had a liar's face on' he was also directed towards an answer, he didn't volunteer the info without a prompt. sweetleftpeg 0
I'll not dismiss it straight away like, but I'm surprised they know so much. Bruce Shephard is known to be pretty good at keeping quiet and not giving nowt away. Plus, even the greastest cover ups and Anal Oliver helping with the PR I don't think you could keep the national press from claims that Shearer slaps other players around. Big gob Robert would have said something by now like, but all he did was blame Souness iirc.
Guest alex
The internal suspension bit was a rumour that went around when he was injured the season before last. Not that I believe it.

hggcraig 0
I heard that Shearer thing last year, dunno if its true though i went to a talk in with John Carver once and he said his favourite player was Bellamy and that they had their differences but liked eachother because they both wanted whats best for the club. I know Shearer hates him, because when Shearer did a different talk in he made that clear, but im not sure if Bellamy was as hated as you made out there. sweetleftpeg 0
Urban Myth the thing about Shearer I reckon. The nationals would have printed something and two of the biggest mouths we've ever had in Robert and Bellamy haven't even hinted at it.
Guest alex
Without going into whether or not it's true the bloke who sits behind me who normally talks shite came out with what I thought was a bit of commonsense at the last home game. He said he thought if Shearer became manager he would be a bit too old fashioned and was probably ten years too late in terms of what his techniques and philosophy would be. Obviously it's impossible to tell but it could be right.
sweetleftpeg 0
I've always had a gut feeling that Shearer won't make a very good manager for some reason. He doesn't seem like the kind of bloke who could man motivate like KK did and frankly doesn't seem to be someone to be shit scared off either like Ferguson. Plus, if the other rumours are true about him keeping his little clique and picking his favourites then that won't help build a team. Still, all theoretical of course. With regards these rumours, they just sound like hearsay and as has been said, why haven't they been mentionaed by Bellamy or Robert? As far as I was aware, Robert and Shearer were friends off the pitch, and their kids went to school together. Still, Shearer bashing is a popular sport nowadays. Can't wait 'til we're better next year because the cancer's gone.....

All if true of course. On a side note, now you've mentioned it, i agree. If Robert and Bellamy had been knocked about i'm sure they would have said something by now.
