Alan is not a guy that's feeling sorry for himself. He's in many ways a throw-back to how the game you used to be, where people didn't look to point the finger at other people and blame other people. If things are not going well, he looks at himself first and foremost. There's a tendency in the modern game where people start to look for excuses. "Like Alan, I want to take responsibility. If things weren't happening, I'd want to take responsibity, rather than to be looking for excuses or pointing the finger at anybody else." Yeah, right.
