Looked very frail tonight but have to agree with Toonraider, he did well to be there and is determined to be back working with the ROI in their next game. Says everything you need to know about the man, a fighter and isn't going to let age or illness hold him back. If I had half his spirit at his age I'd be very happy.

He did look frail, but having just undergone surgery to remove lung cancer, I thought it was great that he was there, and if you consider that, he looked well.

Very unusual too. They did catch it early though, so there's a chance.

He had cracked a few ribs in a skiing accident and the tumour on his lung showed up in the x-ray. Was bigger than a golf ball but smaller than a tennis ball apparently. He looked like he'd shed a few much needed pounds.

My question is, wtf is he doing skiing at his age? I'd take his knighthood off him for sheer stupidity tbh.

But his life is for living....its short enough as it is, people like Sir Bobby are obviously not going to be content knitting, watching tv and pottering in the garden. Why should being 73 stop you from skiing anyway? Good on him i say...in actual fact you are more likely to live longer by keeping fit and active and mentally stimulated, which is why Bobby has done so well. 73 isnt really that old nowadays...i have clients in their 90's who are pretty fit and active.

Thank god he had a slight accident.

;) You can get that thought out of your head right now!

I never know what to call them, i manage a sheltered scheme for elderly...the correct title for them is the god awful 'service user' Its pathetic!! Actually i normally just call them tenants...but that makes it sound like a own a massive block of flats!:lol:

My tongue was firmly in my cheek when I remarked he shouldn't have been skiing in the first place. ;)

And yes the very fact he went over and did himself some damage in a ironic twist of fate saved his life.

Wonder where the big casino is thinking of striking next? Poor Bobby.
