Gemmill 50038
I hate that bastard Shepherd. All his big talk 3 months ago, and here we are reduced to taking our begging bowl to the 19 other Premiership teams to see if they'll let us appoint an unqualified manager. What a fucking sorry shambles we are.
Baggio 0
Won't the LMA all stick together on this? I can't see them giving Roeder the nod when it goes against everything they stand for.

Scottish Mag 3
Can we not just give the job to Shearer now and get it over and done with whether it be success or failure, instead of having to put up with yet another manager who is prepared to keep the seat warm for Al. Â Much like the Souness appointment this appears to be yet another fucking appointment for Fat Freddies desire for our number nine to take charge when he feels like it... Craig 6820
Without it seeming like I'm trying to wind him up, I'd really like to see how LeazesMag can defend Shepherd for yet another shambolic process under his command... Â A businessman who can balance a spreadsheet well he may be, but from a footballing perspective he's fucking clueless.

Shearergol 0
5th most successful team in the Premiership both off and on the field, with the capability and desire to sign England internationals, appoint managers who have won trophies, and bring in crowds of over 50k a week - and we're reduced to this? Â Come on LM, we need answers man

In the end it is the manager who decides his contract...
Craig 6820
Seriously, what the fuck is going on?? The club are breaking their backs to get an unqualified manager appointed when we should be going for someone who has the badges.... Â After all, 3 months ago Fred said: Â "you wouldn't believe it if I told you some of the names of people who wanted to manage Newcastle United!" Mark 0
I was looking forward to next season, new manager, new style of football, no Shearer, and starting to rebuild. Now we just get a below average manager, although me were told we were going to get a top manager in. I've got nout against Roeder like, but he isn't going to win us anything. Â Was going to quit my new job just so I could renew my season ticket, not going to bother now.

So which candidates have you even considered/interviewed to be the "best possible Team Manager" then? You stupid arsehole.
Gemmill 50038
The PL AGM isn't until June 3rd by the way. Another month of this shit to put up with and if we get turned down we will once again have a situation where our manager doesn't get a full pre-season with his players. Freddy can console himself with the fact that people have congratulated him on his handling of the situation whilst we have our 3rd transitional season in a row. snakehips 0
This farce has just taken another twist, in my mind. Â The clubs voting at the forthcoming AGM, on the changes to the rules to enable Roeder to take the manager's job at SJP, is a vote to change the rule structure, NOT an isolated case of 'shall we let Roeder do it' . Â This means they will be less likely to 'go with it', imo, as the badges are Uefa rules, are they not? They would be voting to do away with the requirement altogether, which is far less likely to happen I would have thought. Â Aaaand, how come Anal D'Ohliver was announcing this request to bend the rules BEFORE Newcastle United had actually made the application?? This is fucking ridiculous in the extreme. As far as I gathered the request would have been for special dispensation not a change in the rules.

The vote would be over a change in the FAPL rules. I still don't see where that would leave us in UEFA-governed competitions though.
