Just been on telling everyone how he sees no reason why the FA can't bend the rules to allow Roeder to take the job.

He also tells everyone listening that foreigners are no good, you have to have a feeling for the club. Or words to that effect.

Reckons Shearer will be in the dugout alongside Roeder come Oct/Nov. When asked why.....'I know Shearer' was his answer.

I cannot abide that ugly bastard. I just started writing an email to the sports editor of the Chron but I'm too fucking tired to summon sufficient bile to do the fucking cockwipe justice. I'll do it tomorrow instead if I can be arsed. I don't use the c-word but fuck me, if Alan Oliver isn't the fucking dictionary definition of one.

Did Benitez have feeling for Liverpool?

Did Mourinho have feeling for Chelsea?

Did Wenger have feeling for Arsenal

Ferguson for Man Utd?

No, he's talking out of his arse and he epitomises the xenophobic element of journalism. I wish he'd fuck off and die tbh.

And here is the reply I got to the complaint I made...Note that in my e-mail, I said I don't mind Oliver having his own opinion even though I don't particularly agree with it and my complaint was on the "these foreigners" comment.

All Alan Oliver has done is express his honestly held, personal  belief

that Newcastle United need a manager with a feel for the club.

He is not being racist or even xenophobic,  And  he is not, as some

people

suggest, claiming to speak for the fans, although he does mingle with

fans

at talk-ins every week, so he  certainly gets a feel for how they  are

thinking  at first hand.

But he doesn't need to  speak for  the fans as we have punters panels,

text

messages and fanzine columns in the Chronicle regularly to give

supporters

the chance to air their views.

All he is doing is simply expressing HIS opinion on what he thinks is

best

for the club.

Football is all about opinions, and well as reporting the facts, it is

also

a big part of Alan Oliver's job to express his opinion on events at St

James' Park.  You may or may not agree with his opinion, but he is

entitled

to HIS opinion, just as you are yours.

As far as the managerial situation is concerned, all Alan  has done is

try

to give his assessment of a situation which has changed over a period

of

weeks. It  is not long ago that Alan WAS saying that Martin O'Neill was

the

leading candidate for the job, but a number of factors - O'Neill's link

with the England job and an apparent indecision over his future, not to

mention the way Roeder has turned things around at the club in the

meantime, have put a different complexion on things.

Alan is accused of being a mouthpiece for the club  but I would refute

that. Of course  he has good contacts within St James' Park and indeed

throughout the game - he couldn't do his job if he didn't.

But we fall out with people at NUFC  regularly, including Freddy

Shepherd.

We walk a tightrope on a daily basis in trying to make sure our

coverage of

the club is balanced.

You are of course, entitled to your opinion on Alan Oliver's coverage

of

NUFC.

But what I would say is that  what he wants is what we all want - and

that

is to see NUFC enjoy the success which the fans crave and indeed

deserve.

If he wanted success for the club, he'd want the best man appointed as manager. And he wouldn't fawn over has-beens and never-weres just because they were born locally. I started an email last night but couldn't be arsed to finish it, but the main thrust was calling into question that idiotic editor's ability to do his job. At the end of the day it's him that rubber stamps Oliver's drivel.

Oliver wants what's best for the paper (ie, interviews with whoever's daft enough to talk to him). People like Roeder & O'Neill are more likely to talk to him than a big-name who would have bigger fish to fry than a jumped up little tw*t who only has a role in the local newspaper.

You just know that the guy measures his own impression of his popularity by the number of complaint letters they get about him, too, on the basis that he must be doing something right...

What a fucking joke that man is. He echoes the Fat Man's feelings though and they sum up everything that's wrong with him. One of the biggest clubs in the country, run with the mindset of a local resistance army. FFS!
