Jimbo 175
No. He's done fantastically well, but is not the man to take the club forward.
Guest CrimsonFault
He's steadied the ship and took us further than we imagined. However, he has proven he can't cut the mustard as a full time Premiership manager with West Ham - his transfer dealings leave a lot left to be desired for. In a nutshell, thanks for 3 crackin' months Glen, but time to move on.
Papa Lazaru 0
To answe i would need to know what Fat Fred's alternatives were, rather than all the alternatives we as fans would like him to have spoken to before Roeder. It may well be that after trying O'Neil, Fat fred sees it as between Roeder and a some ppl we wouldn't rate at all in which case the answer is yes. If it's between Roeder and all the viable managers around europe that i myself would ant offered it first then Roeder wouldn't be the no.1 choice. Guest CrimsonFault
So 90% of us dont want Roeder, this is the poll that really counts, not Alan Olivers.

Portly Freddie told us that 'top managers' wanted the job so there must have been 'top' appointments other than Roeder!!!! 131313 Thats what's annoying people. That fat fred basically had it that top class managers were begging for the job and that its a job "anyone in football would want" etc. and now it seems blatant that he's spoken to O'Neil and then went straight to Roeder
Papa Lazaru 0
Depends on the contract he's offered. If he's offered a relatively short term contract, he could build on the work he's done but we wouldn't be lumbered with him if it goes pear shaped. As PL said above, aside from the fact we don't know who Shepherd has spoken to we have to realise that that just because we regard the Newcastle job as a 'big' job, most wouldn't. 131318 Thats what's annoying though, with the money we'd pay, the tranfer funds available, players here like Owen, the ground, the crowd and the potential we could get top class managers but fat boy most likely hasn't spoken to them. So the problem isn't how appealing the job is, its fat fred not asking them or accepting their offers if indeed they did all want the job. If Roeder does get a short term contract then i think we can expect the return of Shearer in the following season!!!
Jusoda Kid 1
The worrying thing is it looks like Roeder is the only one daft enough to give it ago
snakehips 0
If, and it's still an if, Roeder gets the job he will have my full support. I don't think it would be the right choice, but I don't get to make the decision. 'The players have come out in favour of Roeder' we hear. Oh yeah? What the fuck do we expect them to say??? 'Fuck off, we don't want that arsehole'??? And who came out in his favour? Given and Parker. Has anyone asked Boumsong what his thoughts are on the matter at this moment? 'Roeder has done well since he took over.' Yes, that's true. It must have taken all of his football intelligence to push our wide midfielders outside to play orthodox wingers instead of playing narrow. It must have taken all his football intelligence to replace Ameobi on the wing with Zog. 'It was great management to give the team talk he did at half time at the SoL.' What happened to the team talk BEFORE the game??? Frustration is what I am feeling at this news. As I said, he will get my full support - despite the comments I make above appearing otherwise

GafferTape 0
If only Titus could put away that one on one he had with the keeper, Roeder would have been granted Geordie Messiah status. Hope Titus can live with that. Edited May 4, 2006 by GafferTape
