Relegation plunderings.

I haven't seen one of these threads already, everyone seems to be obsessed with this World Cup nonsense at the moment...

From the three teams that have been relegated, who do you reckon is good enough to poach ?

I'd be quite interested in:

Pennant. Whenever I've seem him he's looked quite decent with an amazing crossing ability. Young back up for Nobby ?

Melchiot. Again, normally a good defender. I was quite surprised when he left Chelsea to join Birmingham. Better than Carr ?

Upson. Not sure how well he's done this season but last season he was amazing. And our defence, if you hadn't noticed, isn't all that great.

Forsell. A decent striker, too good for the Championship, better than Ameobi and Chopra ?

No one from West Brom or Sunderland really take my fancy.

Gera, Curtis Davis from West Brom and Arca, Lawrence from Sunderland.

I half considered Arca, but I couldn't be bothered to find out how old he was. He seems like he's been there for ages. Anyone ?

Late 20's. I've seen him play a few games in the championship and premiership and he's always immpressed me. But I think he plays on the wing now for the mackems rather than fullback? If we tie down Zoggy to a new deal then we wont really need Arca.

When Upson was playing for Reading he excelled, and I've rated him highly ever since. Unfortunately his season's been dogged by injuries so he could be another Woodgate.

Forssell is far too injury-prone and would probably only manage about 5 games for us, given our injury record.

Pennant has alot of ability but he's a cheating little turd with a bad attitude. Whether he can rectify that signing for us I don't know. Will never forget him going in two-footed on Stephen Hunt though. C**t.

Upson would be good if he wasn't so slow, Curtis Davis could well end up at a club in a better position than us.

Gera looked good last season, not so much this year. No one really stands out, Kirkland would be alright if we needed a keeper but he is the goalies equivalent of Woodgate/Dyer.

EDIT: does Kirkland actually belong to West Brom or is he still Liverpoos?

Id have upson in a flash like, ten times better than boumsong. Forsell too if he can recapture his form before his injury. might play well with owen.

Forsell is too big a gamble imo so it's a big if.
