Alot of Corgan's solo stuff has been top notch but hasn't really gotten the coverage it deserves so I don't doubt that he can still produce great albums. Hopefully with the SP name on it, it'll get noticed.

Just changing the subject here, I listened to a Duncan Sheik song yesterday and and I loved it, so I downloaded some more and they were fantastic. Highly recommended!

Hopefully. I've been getting back into the Smashing Pumpkins recently after not listening to them in a few years. Some of the lyrics Corgan has written are awesome, as is his poetry - not that I bought his book, just flicked through it in Virgin. ;)

But they're on their way back. As far as I know Corgan and Chamberlain are the only original members. They've got Melissa Auf der Maur playing D'arcy Wretzky's parts and James Iha's staying with A Perfect Circle apparently.

Personally I'd rather be playing Melissa's parts than D'arcy's!

It all went down hill for Billy when he lost his hair.

Saw them at the Mayfair supported by Verve before they became The Verve. Back in the day when me and Billy Corgan both had hair

I saw them here at one of the festivals in the 12 months after siamese dream and it was a bit

Not as bad as Perry Farrell and how he carried on like a fucking wasted wanker when they toured in the early 90s!

Aye, that's when I saw them. Thought they were good live though, as were The Verve.

Don't know about you Alex but around that time I was seeing so many bands that it got to the point where they really had to be tight, sound good and not carry on like a bunch of wankers to impress.

I think it was around 1995 I sat down and worked out that from the time I started seeing bands I had averaged about 4 or 5 a week and that wasn't including all the bands at festivals I went to, just the ones I saw - so maybe I had a nonchalant attitude to some bands that didn't deserve it.

That said JMC could of played a 15 minute set, told the audience to fuck off and then pissed on the stage and I would been impressed.
