.../\......\o/... 0
yeah I would. After Souness Roeder will be a god send. We can't expect to go from Souness to Hitzfeld, we need to build up and take a diffrent route for a change. Roeder will knows the academy boys and will see which ones are capable of making the grade which will save the club a bit of money. Hopefully we will see the end of us buying trophy players. LeazesMag 0
i dont think you can say that we have lowered expectations - glenn has exceeded all expectations of him to get us where we are. He has done a fantastic job with the same team who was staring relegation in the face had the results not turned around. We've had big name managers in the past and while theyve attracted big names, they havent had the best out of them. Sam Allardyce isnt a big name but he's attracted some big names to Bolton because he has built up a reputation for what he's done with with the players he has. Any manager is only as good as the results they get 127483 Allardyce is one who I would like, but Roeder will get my support
Bizza 105
He's done a good enough job so far and we could do a lot worse, On the other had I think we are capable of attracting a bigger name.

Lazarus 0
Q. Would i be happy if Roeder got the job? A. Yes. He seems to be a calming influence on what is at times a very chaotic club. Q Would i be happy if Hitzfeld/Scolari et al got the job? A. I'd be jizzing in the streets

As big a risk as anything I could think of mate, honest - no experience of managing even a european club !!!! England yes, but not Newcastle. hggcraig 0
I don't want Roeder, some sort of role but not manager. 127590 I agree, i think he has done a brilliant job after Souness left but i still dont think he is a top manager. I hope he stays at the club in some capacity but i think we should hire a manager who has a better long term record.
aimaad22 4082
NO Wont be happy by any means. I suppose it wouldnt be the worst thing thats ever happened to us but im still looking at something better than Roeder. Remember Souness started off very well too but then it suddenly all went wrong. Im not saying the same will happen to Glenn, but there is no reason why it couldnt; he doesn't have a very impressive record, been relegated and all
Jill 0
Definitely more 'satisfied' than happy. We could do a lot worse. Obviously we could also do a lot better but I think Roeder would suffice, for the time being at least.

Tom 14011
i think Roeder should at least have a say. Perhaps not as manager but he'd make a good director of football i think.

His transfer record leaves a little to be desired for, the hassle he went through to sign Tomas Repka was unbelievable, he was hyped up to be a top TOP player, he signed, he got sent off and his debut and things never really got any better. ewerk 30160
Well its been people on NO saying it more than people on here, either way I've never really been a fan of the DoF role, only really seems to work in Europe or with two continental people in the jobs.
