Don't be shy, we're all friends here. 127108 I always thought he was a GREAT addition to the squad and could not understand the criticism and condemnation he received on here before he had even kicked a ball. Scottish Mag 3
Based on him looking shite in the SPL I did. However whilst i will give credit where credit is due for his form as of late my opinion has not changed all that much of him yet especially when you consider the opposition he has been up against. Yes he'll come in and do a job battling away but i still have doubts as to his ability against the better strikers. Isegrim will agree he often relies on being a dirty B*stard when playing agaisnt decent strikers and this was seen against Spurs where IMO he should have been sent off for two stupid tackles. I hope he proves me wrong and continues the good form as I have been telling people this side of the border that he has been playing well however we also need to remember having filled Boumsongs shoes it would not take much to impress. *On another note the stories are still rife that Boumsong will be returning to Rangers with the latest being that the story is circulating within France too*
Gemmill 46086
Based on him looking shite in the SPL I did. 127111 You're forgiven because you'd actually seen him play when you made this assessment. As to the rest of your post - I agree he should have been sent off v Spurs, and he got lucky. But I've not really got anything against someone taking the dirty approach when faced with a top striker. As long as he's still on the pitch after 90 minutes that is. I think he's looked composed on the ball (not just when compared with Boumsong), strong in the tackle and strong in the air. And he seems to make his gob go a bit which we need as well. He does make the odd daft challenge, but like I say, if he's still on the pitch at the end of the 90 I'm not too worried if he lets the opposition know what he's about. snakehips 0
Has Titus seemingly improved at all, playing alongside someone who knows what they're doing as he did alongside Woodgate? Just wondering.
Gemmill 46086
Titus has looked good since he came back actually. Not sure whether it's to do with Moore or just his new-found concentration and confidence.

With Roeder being a centre back in his playing days it can only be good for Titus and Taylor to get some 'proper' instruction from a specialist. Moore has looked good by simply looking like a bloke who knows what his job is. He's not a fantastic defender like Woodgate and doesn't even have the ability of Bramble. But he does seem to know how to do things like mark & be physical and he seems to be helping with the organisation. I wouldn't like to build our defence around him but he's a good solid squad player which a club like ours needs and seems to be a big improvement on the likes of Boumsong, O'Brien, Hughes and Dabizas. Gemmill 46086
Not sure, but you can understand it - I'd need to be drunk pretty much 24 hours a day to live in Germany tbh. Vermin, Fawlty!
Jimbo 175
I'm with Ritchie when it comes to Craig Moore, he can be and has been in the past a nasty cynical player who has commited some obscene tackles, but what I would say is that he has displayed performances superior to Boumsong which is a bonus to the team. Not a great defender, just better than Boumsong.
Isegrim 9906
I've to admit that I'm moore than pleasantly surprised. He is doing fine and I hope he continues this way. He clearly has some leading abilities at the back and that is what we were lacking recently. But I am still cautious about him being a long term solution. I cannot forget what he looked like when he was playing here in Jormany. He is struggling against tricky and pacey strikers. When this happens he just resorts to kicking after opposition players which leads to a serious amount of free kicks, penalties and bookings. A bit like the Craig Moore we saw against Charlton... Scottish Mag 3
He always had decent games against the likes of Sutton and Hartson up here where it was purely a physical battle, Larsson on the other hand caused him many problems. For me this has been evident even for us where against the likes of Jason Roberts and Kevin Campbell, yes he has and will do a job, but he wasn't completely convincing against Robbie Keane, Darren Bent etc.. Papa Lazaru 0
On what i've seen so far of him playing for us you'd have to say he's done a simple and effective job at the back for us. As people knew already he's agressive and physical, but he's been pretty acomplished in other aspects as well and has been part of some improved displays from our back 4. Titus as been excellent since his return from injury as well, though his detractors will continually deny it. But we still need a top class, experienced centreback to be signed, preferably one who organises from the back and can help the likes of Titus and Taylor as well. sweetleftpeg 0
He's a lot tidier and skillful that I thought he would be. Makes excellent defensive decisions and not only breaks down an attack, but does it without wasting the ball or simply howking it out, ball playing centre half to a certain extent. Better than I expected.
Craig 6700
If people are bored and want to check through the old threads on here, I always said that, apart from the 'old firm' game I'd seen on the TV, I'd never seen Craig Moore play and therefore would reserve judgement on him. I appreciate that the likes of Ritchie and Isegrim had seen him in Scotland and Germany and were far from impressed but from what I've seen of him for Newcastle, I think he has more than met the expectations of most... In the future when we need to rest players, at least we can rely on Moore when it comes to playing mid-table sides, etc. Against the big clubs though we'll have better next season...hopefully.
