NOLBERTO Solano continued his climb up Newcastle United's Premiership goalscoring chart with his close range effort in Saturday's 3-0 win over West Bromwich Albion.

The Peruvian's first-half effort at the Gallowgate End was his 35th league goal for the Magpies, putting him in outright fifth spot in the list ahead of former colleague Robert Lee.

Shola Ameobi stays in ninth position, but his brace against the Baggies puts him closer to Craig Bellamy and Gary Speed.

The Top Ten reads:

1 Alan Shearer 148

2 Peter Beardsley 46

3 Andy Cole 43

4 Les Ferdinand 41

5 Nolberto Solano 35

6 Robert Lee 34

7 Gary Speed 29

8 Craig Bellamy 27

9 Shola Ameobi 25

10 Laurent Robert 22

I think that's right. I've only found stats for all league games so I'm not sure about how many games Lee, Cole and Beardo played in the Premiership.
