The Peruvian's first-half effort at the Gallowgate End was his 35th league goal for the Magpies, putting him in outright fifth spot in the list ahead of former colleague Robert Lee. Shola Ameobi stays in ninth position, but his brace against the Baggies puts him closer to Craig Bellamy and Gary Speed.
