hggcraig 0
No where near good enough, he took his goals well but apart from that was poor today. He has scored a few goals recently but should of had more, due to missing a few sitters. We someone a lot better than him to replace Shearer

Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
The No.9 shirt should be rested for a while until a suitable candidate is found for it. Unless Owen wants it??
luckyluke 2
Isn't Owen due to inherit it? Despite always having worn the number 10.
TheInspiration 1
Isn't Owen due to inherit it? Despite always having worn the number 10. 126160[/snapback] Shearer offered it to him for this season and he said no, possibly suggesting he doesn't have a long-term future here. Okay, forget I said that. Come on the Toon and all that.

Matty 0
And he couldn't be number 9 this season as the season was already under way when he joined and numbers cannot be changed.

Holden McGroin 6785
I love these little digs at Shola. "Should have let Nobby take it" ?????? WHY????? Since Roeder has taken over he has been good tbh.

As for the shirt - it's only a shirt with a number on it, and some crap has worn it before

TheInspiration 1
Ameobi will not be the number 9 next year, but I do want him to stay. I'm not saying he won't continue to frustrate, but he's playing well and most definitely improving. Surprised there hasn't been any "yeah he played well but he's still a poor player, and he'll now play crap for another six games"-esque comments yet. luckyluke 2
A regular comment (not just in this thread) is 'he took his goals well, but he still played shit'. He's a striker FFS, that's his job. It's like saying Shay Given, he made some good saves, kept a clean sheet but he still played shit.
