JawD 99
Apparantly there is a FA meeting on May 5th, but they will reveal te new manager before then. They have said they have been through their shortlist and need to deliberate before making the appointment. So hopefully, with that revealled next week, it should be full steam ahead on us getting sorted.
Gemmill 46086
Did anyone else read the stuff in the paper about the FA's interviews? Apparently O'Neill was considered "brash" in his. The FA aren't keen on his backroom team - that Robertson bloke and the other one - and had expressed this in the interview (you know what they're like for their "grooming a successor" thing), to which O'Neill had replied "Do you want someone who can win you football games, or a youth development coach?". Anyway, by the sound of things they weren't too impressed with how he came across in the interview, which could play into our hands. Having said that if I had to sit in a room and listen to Steve McClaren talk for a couple of hours, I'd want a pillow. And not to bite before it starts. Tooj 17
Added to the fact i'm sure John Robertson said he'd never want to work for England
snakehips 0
I believe that all this hoo-hah by the FA is just waffle in an attempt to hoodwink Joe Public into thinking that they are examining the situation in the closest detail. If McClaren doesn't get the job I will be absolutely astonished.
