Gemmill 46086
Looks like Shearer's last game for us. Sad not to be able to clap him off at SJP, but I think he'll be a happy man tonight regardless.

Woodgate27 0
Surely he could play the last 5 minutes of the Cheslea match? If i recall, Le Tissier suffered a similar injury a few games out from the end of the season, came on at the end of the last match against arsenal, and scored the winner. Wullie 0
That's a real shame. Can't they postpone his testimonial or something? He has to make some sort of appearance against Chelsea as well.
catmag 337
He's confirmed it himself. Probable tear to the medial ligament to be confirmed by a scan on Thursday
Gemmill 46086
Just interviewed on Radio Newcastle there. He sounds sick. They'll have to postpone his testimonial - Cath, you might get to go after all.
Kid Dynamite 7181
well he might be alright for his testimonial. but if not he can still hobble on for 30 seconds. tbh, scoring a goal against the mackems the week they get relegated is a pretty decent end to anyones career! Jimbo 175
"It doesn't look good. They think there might be a tear in the medial ligament, and if that is the case then that'll be it for me I'm afraid," Shearer said. "But I'll have a scan on Thursday and see how bad it is."
